“A lovely, clean little hotel”
On first glance, it is a little chipped off the edges und could use a bit of an overhaul. As I moved back to Germany after several years in England, I needed a while to find suitable permanent accommodation, so I booked a room for 4 weeks. The longer I was in the hotel, the better I liked it. The room was big enough, only the en suite could have done with a couple more square cm. The room was cleaned and tidied every morning, however the time when this would be done was totally unpredictable. I would have preferred it if it had happened **roughly** at the same time each day (like, within the same hour!). My room looked out onto the back yard which was less than ideal, I think I would have preferred street view, as I was occasionally woken by noise from other guests, however I never reported this so can't blame the hotel for it.
Breakfast was a pleasure and one member of staff particularly was outstanding. She soon came to me when she saw me, passing me a large porcelain cup as she noticed I had to refill the little coffee cups. We had many a chat about topics such as opera and sightseeing. - Also the receptionists were lovely and chatty. Opposite reception was a computer to use free internet on, and all rooms have wifi which worked very well for me, you just need to ask for the password at checkin. They have a rack wirth dozens of flyers about all sorts of Hamburg attractions, which I also loved. Overall, I would stay there again and will certainly recommend it to my friends.
