“Very nice and conveniently located”

Very nice room, beds a little too hard, beautiful breakfast room with European style breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful (speak English), street is a little on the rough side (sex shops all around) but excellent security in hotel. Felt very safe. Just 5 minute walk to central transportation station. I would stay here again.

“Location”

While the location is within walking distance of quite a few features of the city, the actual street was a little scary. The entrance is directly between two "sex shops" so it's not exactly family friendly. Due to what I would assume are safety reasons, the hotel locks the door at 7pm and you have ring the doorbell for them to let you in. One of the nights we were there we had to wait to be let in and got to stand next to a real live hooker. Fun stuff. Vicinity to the attractions, pretty good. Actual street? Not so good.

“Great location”

The Novum is about 1 block from the main train station, which is a great location. The street is a bit seedy, but it's not dangerous. The staff were great -- and breakfast was wonderful (nothing fancy, but plenty of it). The room was spotless, the bath very nice -- all in all, a great deal.

“Good hotel and breakfast for the price”

Its for adults. The neighborhood its awful but for the price , clealiness and breakfast its a good price.

“Great staff”

The hotel and it's personal are excellent for a city trip! Clean rooms and a good breakfast. The surrounding area did not bother me, as said the hotel is located in a street full of sex shops, prostitutes are on the streets as well at night. But again they do not bother you when you do not pay any attention to them.

“Comfortable inn right in Hamburg centre”

Basic but nice three star hotel right in the centre of Hamburg and in walkable distance from the central station. The street it's on can be challenging as it's busy day and night. The hotel itself is small but very comfortable. The breakfast provided typical German with buns, spreads, salads, fruits, yogurts, eggs etc. I feel like I've got a fair deal - a good price for what I got!!

“Did not like the neighborhood”

The people working at the hotel were very nice, friendly and helpful. The room was reasonably clean, but was not made up every day and did have live spiders. The breakfast buffet was good and provided all the standard foods such as cereal, boiled eggs, cold cuts, bread, cheese etc. BUT, the neighborhood was very unpleasant. The street was lined with sex shops of various types and prostitutes were standing in the doorways.

“Novum is a dump”

Lousy area of town and they pushed me to their sister hotel saying the Novum was full. It was raining outside and I was a huge hassle. I wou;d not recommend this hotel at all.
