“Comfortable stay.”

Very comfortable hotel, good varied breakfast buffet. Helpful friendly english speaking staff. Excellent restaurant within 10 minutes walk and fast food outlets but not much else. Couldnt find any bars etc. Bar in hotel reasonably priced. Hotel within 10-15 minutes walk to s bahn train station with excellent, reasonable, frequent service to Hamburg.

“Suburban but it works”

The hotel is on a main road with no charm but, having asked in advance for a quiet room, we got a big twin room at the back looking out on private gardens which was very peaceful. Although the breakfast was a bit pricey, there is a good seven-day cafe just down the road. The metrobus 4 runs frequently into the city from the main road or the efficient S Bahn is 10 minutes walk away. All went well. Not good for people who are nervous of public transport or who want to party in the centre but, for the price, good qualtiy.

“A nice hotel”

A pleasant hotel, well situtated for both the arena and the city.

“Nice but expensive”

The hotel is nice and clean, the rooms smaller than expected. Taxi ride to downtown about 10-15 minutes. Internet available at a cost and very expensive, most holtels offer free wireless in the lobby as a minimum, but not here. Very good breakfast, but again expensive. Hotel has restaurant but limited menu, only one decent restaurant within walking distance (italian).

“Acceptable, but ordinary.”

It is a very ordinary hotel off a main street in Hamburg. Nothing fancy but nothing bad either. I was surprised by the 12 Euro nightly parking fee. While I won't say I wouldn't stay there again, I'm more inclined to try out someplace else next time. The staff was very nice, helpful and spoke good English. We spent just one night there for quick access to the Hamburg airport in the subsequent morning having spent the day in a nearby city, so I cannot comment on how well the location was for Hamburg activities. It was a modest distance but fine for travelling to the airport. I think I read on the Hotel's on website, they are ranked the "32nd best hotel in Hamburg". That seems fitting.

“Hotel was ok but wasn't particularly convenient.”

The hotel is in the Stellingen suburb of Hamburg, which is a 20 minute train journey away from the main Hauptbahnhof train station in the centre of the city. The nearest S Bahn station is a 10-15 minute walk away from the hotel. Although it isn't too far away, it is quite difficult to do if you are carrying heavy bags of luggage. Apart from the Arena, there isn't that much to see or do in the immediate locality. Having checked into the hotel, I found that the bath/shower was covered by some sort of black material. I wasn't impressed with having to clean the bath to remove this material. The room itself was clean, spacious and comfortable. There is a main road outside, which was audible but not excessively loud. The main thing that I would criticise the hotel for was finding the black things in the bath. I would suggest staying in the centre of Hamburg, as it is a bit too far away from centre and there isn't a huge amount to do in the immediate area. It wasn't awful by any stretch of the imagination. My stay wasn't uncomfortable. I was just a little disappointed by the location.

“Not impressed, can find better”

hotel actually is a 3 star hotel. It is clean but a bit run down. Minimum service, no cable TV, with english channel. Very good breakfast. Location is average, need taxi to go to shopping or main business areas.

“Too bad for a Mercure”

The hotel is old and in old condition. Despite being ina non-smoking room, there was cigarretes smell coming from the ventilation. Breakfast was a mess and there was not enough tables!
