Terrible internet connectionPosted Nov 21, 2013
Pros: Clean and minimal environment.
Cons: For the business people, I believe decent internet connection guarantees high speed internet access is minimal neces for modern business.
Location: It is tough to find out the hotel.
It's a good hotel but the internet connection was terrible. Wifi simply did not work and speed of connection was as slow as dial-up. I purchased the special plan to speed up the connection but nothing changed -- the hotel cancelled the charge for the special plan after I complained about it. Since I simply could not stay at the hotel without having the decent internet environment, I requested to refund already paid hotel room charge -- but they denied. Instead, they offered transferring me to the different NH hotel in the different location, which had eventually a better internet connection. If you need to work on with internet connection, I don't recommend this hotel because of its truly prehistoric slow internet connection.

Nice hotel.Posted Sep 23, 2013
Pros: Super quality rooms and facilities.
Location: Do use buses. Cheap and easy and give access to one of Europe's most interesting cities.
Very smart modern hotel. Not all reception staff manage English. Beware free wifi and free parking. The former is complicated and only free for one day and the parking is 12€ per day.

Avoid the barPosted Sep 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
I cannot recommend this hotel. Although the standard was very good in some areas, in others it was appalling. I got very rude treatment in the bar. When I asked reception for a complaint form, they had no such thing, and they did not offer any alternative means to complain. I therefore wrote to their Head Office, only to receive the response that they could not read my handwriting and I should 'phone. Totally unacceptable customer service.

A fan in the room?Posted Aug 20, 2013
Pros: Location, location, location!
Cons: Air conditioning would be a nice touch.
Location: All of Berlin is a short distance away via train which is outside the door. With Hamburg, Berlin is the other great international city of Germany!
When I walked into the room I saw a fan. This was the only source of cooling in my room which looked on to the enclosed atrium lobby. Not good. I was fortunate that it wasn't unbearably uncomfortable given that this was August in Germany! Great location, however, and nice staff! Great value, at least when booked using Expedia.

OK Hotel as long as you don't need ACPosted Aug 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is a decent location in Hamburg. The restaurant was good the couple of times we tried it. Front desk was nice and friendly but not accommodating. When we arrived it was 90 plus degree F (34-35 C). The rooms have a simple air conditioning unit that needs to have a key inserted to function. I was traveling with a colleague and her room (4th floor) seemed to function properly. I was on the 2nd floor and my room was stuffy when I arrived, I inserted the key and showered. When I got out of the shower the room had not cooled down, I tried to call the front desk (the phone was not working) so I went down to the desk. They told me they had to turn the unit on remotely and to wait 10-15 minutes and the room would cool down. 45 minutes later, nothing. We went to dinner and when I returned the room was still hot so I inserted the key and waiting another 30 minutes, nothing. I called the front desk (phone was fixed), no answer. I went back down and asked if I could switch rooms. They said again that they would turn the room on and this time turn down the temp (apparently remotely), still nothing. I asked for another room but they were booked. I did finally get a new room on the same floor (2nd floor) after the second night and it was only marginally better. The rooms were very clean and the rates seemed good. So I would assume this would normally be a good hotel, I just had bad luck.

Loud & merry people in the bar outside my windowPosted Aug 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
It was okay. Not really a walking distance from the S or U-Bahn, but decent bus connections to the centre. Hotel itself a bit in the middle of nowhere, in a big street, surrounded by offices and petrol stations. It was a very hot night when I stayed there, but I couldnt have the window open, as the hotel bar was right outside my window, and the loud laughter and conversations went on until very late in the night. The air-con was there for those who like it, but I personally prefer open windows, so it spoilt my experience, (I did specifically ask for a ruhiges Zimmer when I checked in.)

Hotel was reasonably located with a short bus journey to the underground system. Room was fine although the air conditioning was not working at 100% efficiency. I chose to go to Hamburg centre for breakfast and met friends for evening meals so I am unable to comment on the quality of the restaurant. Hotel staff were very helpful and although I speak German I did hear them speak English to other guests.

Great Hotel for a City Break!Posted Jul 24, 2013
Pleasant staff, very helpful. I don't know whether I would rate the hotel 4 * though. The hotel is in a central situation about 20 minutes on the bus to the city centre and really anywhere else of interest. There are a couple of nice restaurants/pubs near by. I can recomment the hotel for a longer stay as well.....
