Good price and convenient location

Posted Jan 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
Very clean hotel, really nice breakfast, only a few mins walk to the u-bahn, and underground parking at a reasonable price. Only negative was that the hotel description states that there is a sauna on-site however we were told we needed to go to another hotel for this and pay 8 euro each!

Lovely hotel but location could be better.

Posted Sep 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was lovely, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good for a freebie. Only complaints were that the wifi in our room (403) was very poor signal, but it worked fine in the bathroom! and the area directly outside the hotel was a little rough. Not to the point of being intimidated, but could be if you were on your own. 5 Min walk to the train station was useful though, and Reeperbahn was 10 mins by the u-Bahn

Nice, spotlessly clean hotel but horrible location

Posted Jul 18, 2013
Pros: Newly refurbished and spotlessly clean
Cons: The location and no proper bar
Location: Horrible - in a run-down street with tacky bars, sex shops and beggars.
Spotlessly clean and good breakfast. Rooms a bit small but recently refurbished and perfectly adequate. Converted cinema. The downside is the location. Very near the station but a very tacky and sleazy street with beggars, sex shops, etc. It's classed as a three star hotel but there is no bar and the lift only takes two people at one time. Wouldn't stay there again as I just didn't like the area.

Nothing Special

Posted Apr 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Beware what is offered - a "City view" was across a view of the next building's wall! THis is a dreary, old fashioned hotel offering a very basic service. Nothing terribly wrong with it - but nothing terribly right. The best thing about the room was good black out blinds.

Great wifi

Very pleasant stay at this hotel. The wifi is about the best I've experienced in Hamburg, and the room was nice and clean and comfortable.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel itself was very clean and comfortable. Only downside is that there was no kettle and tea/coffee in the room.

Great hotel for exploring Hamburg

Posted Mar 19, 2013
This hotel is very conveniently located very close to the central train station. It's a five minute walk to the station and you have access to almost to all the underground lines in Hamburg. There's a multitude of casual eateries in the station as well, with the added bonus that they shut at 11 pm. As many reviewers have mentioned, there are a few sex shops in the area, though their frontage looks as tame as any lingerie shop in the UK. Yes, there are a few prostitutes, but they keep their distance (unlike the ones at the Reeperbahn on the other side of the city). There's a Lidl and PennyMarket on each side of the hotel, and a few coffee shops and restaurants on the street should you want to eat or just grab a coffee and a middle eastern sweet.
