“great hotel, superb location, will actively look to stay here on my next visit.”

this hotel is a 5 min taxi ride from the main train station. if i hadnt had 2 bags, i would and could easily have walked. in fact on my way back, i did walk along the lake front and its just lovely. hotel reception was friendly and efficient, and the hotel is fresh and very comfortable. my room was a single but plenty of space for 1 person, would be cramped for 2 ... but i was very pleased. 1 lamp needed a new bulb, but it didnt bother me, there was plenty of light from the windows and other lamps. nice, small but very clean modern and efficient shower room with lovely shower - powerful and hot!. i had a room without breakfast included, but i went for breakfast on my 1st morning ... it was eu$15 - not cheap, but there is soooo much choice and wayyyy more than anyone could want to eat. all the food was lovely and fresh and you just helped yourself in the typical european style hotel breakfast. i would recommend though that around the corner is the street Lange Reihe and if you find the corner of that and Danziger str, there is a wonderful cafe there called Cafe Uhrlaub. - gorgeous little courtyard out the back serving lovely food all day long. and such good value! - highly recommneded. the hotel is in the gay area of hamburg, its fine, not in your face and you can easily access the main train station and go anywhere from here. the main shopping area is 10 mins walk away. i would not hesititate to stay at this hotel again. it was just great and i had a really lovely time.
