“Would return when in Hamburg, Germany”
Wounderful hotel with pleasant and extremely helpful staff. Room Very comfortable.
The hotel features I liked best: central location and high quality service.
Everything is highly modernized and excellent breakfast, but it is expensive. Good location to convention center. Expensive Wireless Lan.
“Trendy, nicely designed, wonderfull hotel in center of Hamburg”
Located perfectly in the center of Hamburg. Trendy, well designed hotel, with nice, very comfortable rooms.
“enjoyed the short stay.”
I very much liked the stay although it was very brief. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a modern and clean cut structure.
“You Can't buy "hip"”
I wanted a change from the normal hotel chains. I'm a frequent business visitor to Hamburg and have stayed at most of the other large hotels in the center part of the city. The Side Hotel lobby and room decor was different but aside from having closets that look like large wall mounted white refrigerators and lots of glass and mirror, the hotel did not meet my expectations. I spend 7 nights at the Side and got to use most of the facilities. My first encounter was with a receptionist who didn't seem very familiar with the hotel. Although, other receptionists later in the week were both friendly and knowledgeable. Although the room I had did have a window, it only opened to the exterior decor pane of glass which does not open. Thus no ventilation to the outside. This was unfortunate since the hotel has no real air conditioning and I could not get the room temperature below 22 deg C. I asked about this twice early in the week and was told twice that it would be adjusted to have a lower set-point. However, the problem remained. There are no irons or ironing boards in the room and housekeeping will not provide one. The only way to get clothing pressed is to send them to the valet. My 7 shirts cost €30 to iron. On the plus side: Internet access is free for 3 hours a day The continental breakfast buffet is fantastic but a bit expensive (€23) The fitness center is simple but there is a nice pool in the basement Nespresso machine in the room with pods replaced daily
“OK FOR EUROPE”
The atmosphere was friendly and the service was great although pricey. Good location for shopping and restaurants. Not very comfortable for a 5 star hotel. I guess for Europe hotels its nice, but you will have better luck staying at another hotel with a name.
