Sleeping Giant Park offers 32 miles of trails while West Rock Ridge provides vistas of the Long Island Sound from its peak. Pedestrians and bicyclists share the Farmington Canal Walk, a paved 10-mile trail surrounded by greenery that links Hamden to Cheshire and New Haven. The Eli Whitney Museum, named for the inventor of the cotton gin, features interactive exhibits and workshops.
