“A Diamond in the Rough”

This lovely get away is a refreshing oasis in the middle of nothing! If you are looking for a relaxing get away with a classy golf course and delicious low-country food, this is it. The villas are clean room and up to date. Service is friendly and inspired. While we didn't use the pool it is gorgeous. We stayed here as a "jumping off point" to visit family in the local area and it was an excellent choice...not far from Hammond, 45 minutes or so to Baton Rouge and very near the 12. You will be glad that you stayed here and breakfast is wonderful with a hot, fresh variety each day. Bring your own bottle of wine and sit on the porch in your own rocker.....

We have stayed at the Plantation numerous times and it is always a pleasure! We have family nearby who always ask us why we don't stay with them. It is because we are so comfortable at the villas. It is peaceful and quiet! Also, we have had Easter brunch at the villa restaurant and it was delicious! We certainly will be back!

“Great place to relax while conducting business or getting away from it”

The hotel staff was very friendly and laid back which is good if you are on a golf outing or resting from a hard day's work. I found it convenient and peaceful with a central location to all the Interstates and my customers. Cozy beds, all you need if you want to work or relax at night. Great for entertaining a customer or two as well.Breakfast was a suprise and the meal I had was excellent. I bought a bottle of wine to take back to my room which they opened for me ... great for wind down time each day. If you play golf-must bring the clubs. I may even take a lesson next time.

“Best kept secret in LA”

While getting to this hotel (or should I say resort) is a little off the beaten path, that is also part of it's charm. This is definitely a place to find some peaceful moments. Although I didn't get a chance to play, a beautiful course is available (I almost extended my stay just to play a round). The only restaurants nearby are onsite, but they are EXCELLENT with a varied, albeit a little limited, menu. The service staff is attentive, and the accomodations are comfortable and home-like.

We definitely enjoyed our stay at the Carter Plantation Villas. I would probably choose something other than a Carriage House room next time because it was rather small, but overall this is an excellent place to stay for business or pleasure. The food at the onsite restaurant was the best part of the stay. We had some great meals on this trip all over south Louisiana, but none were better than what was available to us at the Carter Plantation restaurant. Additionally, the staff was of the highest quality. Everyone was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

The hotel is in between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. This was very convenient for business I had in both cities. The room was rather large and very comfortable. The staff was helpful although a bit young...maybe inexperienced is a better way to put it? All in all a great stay, I would recommend, even if you are not a golfer. As I am not!
