The worst B and B we have ever stayed in CRAP !

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Complete refurbishment required.
Location: Good.
The first room they showed us looked as if the door had been previously forced and a totally inadequate repair had been carried out, splintered wood on door frame, chunks of plaster missing with latch lock visibly loose and not secure. All the reading bed lights were broken. Shower room vanity light did not work as well and protruding wood splinters on door frame around lock area, extractor fan filthy etc etc. I could go on but, basically our room showed a complete lack of maintenance.

The dirtiest hotel I've ever seen

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Clean it!
Location: I'd recommend Southampton City Art Gallery, Royal Victoria Country Park and Beaulieu Motor Museum.
I've seen many low-standard hotels and I wouldn't describe myself as a picky traveller but this B&B beats everything I've seen so far. The room couldn't be described otherwise as dirty and unhygienic. The bed linen, pillows and duvets had large yellow stains and some holes, there was a spiderweb and a large spider in the corner just above the tea making facilities. Although I shouldn't call it "facilities" because the kettle was unusable - it had layers of limescale and dirt and the limescale filter was broken. The dustbin hadn't been emptied after the last visitor. I checked out very late and couldn't book a replacement hotel, so I left the keys on the table and endured a 3-hour night drive back home. This totally upset my travel plans as I had planned an action-packed day.

Pleasant and cheap

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Change the shower door for a bi-fold door so it's less of a squeeze to get in and out of the shower.
Location: Near to the city centre
Cheapest accommodation we could find, it's a bit basic, but clean, with friendly staff. A comfortable bed. A good breakfast in the morning.

needs improving

Posted May 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
The Addenro house B&B is in need of some TLC. Improvements are needed to fixtures and fittings. The bed I had needed a new mattress the kettle provided had a broken lid and a basin tap was loose. However the service was friendly and breakfast was ok.

I had stayed for only 1 night. Room was a bit small, but comfortable. Friendly staff. Would recommend for short stays.
