Pros: Convenient location and good price
Cons: Bathrooms need refreshing
Nice hotel in lovely grounds. Downside was that my room was not in the main building. Room was small but bed was comfortable. Bathroom was a bit tired and in need of re-tiling and updating. Staff friendly, but had to ask for coffee to be served to me at breakfast!

Early morning business meeting.Posted May 21, 2015
Cons: Would be too long to list in only 150 characters.
My room was in a separate block about 300m from the hotel reception. As there was no parking available near the reception I parked in 'additional parking' carried my luggage 200m to the reception and found out my room was near where I had parked, so had to carry everything back again. The room I had was tiny, on the second storey of a building that could not originally have been built to accommodate hotel guests. The building sloping roof, reduced the space available in the bedroom which just accommodated a double bed, half height wardrobe and desk and chair. The bathroom was comical, as it was impossible to stand up to use the shower or comfortably use the bath. I waited 30 minutes after ordering a bar meal of pie and veg to arrive, the pie pastry was so hard I could hardly cut it with a knife and the pie itself very poor. There was a large party staying at the hotel and I was woken several times by the noise of doors slamming until 2AM. When I checked out a lady guest was also complaining about the noise, (she may have been staying in a different part of the hotel to me). This is possibly the worst hotel in that price range I have ever stayed in, (I have stayed in other De Veres hotels, several times before).

Nice location but noisy roomPosted Feb 17, 2015 on Hotels
Single room for one night on business. Room was very small but adequate and clean. The only issue I had was the fact that it was directly above the bar, the bar has speakers in the roof so the music was loud in the room initially. It was switched off by 9:30 but the bar noise was pretty loud until after midnight. Headphones or earplugs required. Breakfast was buffet full English with cereals and fruit alongside.

Ok for a short business tripPosted Jan 31, 2015 on Hotels
Room was good - although the TV was terrible (channels not tuned properly, order was wrong, channels missing), should really be better for this day and age. Food was good quality - the use of 200ml bottles for a Coke though is strange!
