“Great alternative to staying in the centre of town”

Usually when we visit family in Southampton we stay in town, but due to Cowes week hotels were booked out at such short notice. The Hilton turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. The hotel has been modernised and is extremely comfortable, although the upper floors get hot during the summer months. We were initially place in a twin double (2 single beds) on the upper floor of the hotel, but were moved upon request to a double in the lower floors which was much cooler from a temperature perspective. Can be hard to find the entrance to the hotel (even though it is sign posted), but once found is easy to get back to. Definitely need a car, as the hotel not within an easy walking distance of Southampton's town centre.

“Bad situation handled extremely well.”

Although we were guaranteed late arrival, the hotel had overbooked, and by 10PM there were no rooms left. The good news is they paid for a room at another very nice hotel. They provided transportation to this hotel, gave us an upgraded room, and a bottle of wine. So, we have no complaints. They were very nice. I have based my review on the lobby, service, and overall impressions.

This hotel was a great deal. Everything was spotless and could not be faulted. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you. The beds were so comfortable is was like sleeping on cotton wool.

This hotel was tremendous. Excellent decor and quality throughout we thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay. The food was excellent, the staff very friendly and went out of there way to help us. We cannot fault our stay here, and we -0 along with our 8 month child were felt welcome from start to finish. The leisure center was excellent, the numerous dining areas left us spoilt for choice and when felling peckish late at night the night porter service was excellent too. Thank you for a wonderful break.

“First class”

The hotel is what you would expect of a Hilton, and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. Just a pity the swimming pool was not open due to "problems with chemicals". Superb breakfasts!

We got a great rate through Expedia for a hotel of such high quality and were very impressed with the hotel. Great value. We chose to book breakfast and the buffet was excellent and well worth the extra. We'd book this hotel again given the chance!
