Convenient for Portsmouth

Posted Sep 18, 2014
Pros: Convenience.
Location: The location is not a destination (unless you are going to the Rosebowl) so it will be popular with holiday makers in transit and salesman only.
Booked at the last minute to be within striking distance of the ferry port at Portsmouth the following morning. The hotel did everything that we needed it to do. Would use it again.

Good Hotel, right next to cricket grounds

Posted Sep 11, 2014
A very clean hotel with a good restaurant with a good buffet breakfast included. If one is without a car it's a good 15 minute walk to a complete shopping area. No small store min immediate area. The cricket grounds are next door

Average hotel with not enough room for breakfast

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Hotel is clean and in good order but a few minutes into getting in our room the bathroom lights went out. Contacted reception and said they'd get someone to look. Three separate hotel staff knocked at the door and all they did was switch light switch off and on and take the key card in and out (even though other lights were clearly working). I wouldn't have minded but it was late and I had two young children. Eventually the manager fiddled with something outside the room and got them working. They still flashed on and off a few times while in there and I wasn't satisfied that a qualified electrician wasn't used in the first instance. Breakfast was a nightmare, no staff to direct you, just a huge queue up to a very small breakfast area. Had to leave kids minding table for 10 minutes as unable and unwilling to queue up twice, individually, to get breakfast for the four of us. Overall a disappointing experience.

Close to Southampton

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Breakfast was superb, with lots of choice.
Cons: The family rooms. The beds need to be far more comfortable.
Location: Good location if you have a car and want to get to Southampton. The Virgin fitness facility next to it looked superb.
Nice, new looking hotel. Stayed one night so that we could easily get to a performance at the Southampton theatre. Two adults and two children shared one room, which was small once the sofa had been made up as a double bed. The mattress on the sofa was really hard and uncomfortable. We were on the ground floor and woken several times in the early hours as people returned to their hotel rooms.

1 nighter bank holiday stay

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Free parking for customers, which is good as I know some hotels charge an over night fee. Room was pleasant and clean, no surprises.
Cons: Found the shower water temperature was a bit temperamental - it will be hot one minute and cold the next. Didn't relay this issue with the hotel as it
Location: Hotel is situated conveniently just off the M27, so easy to reach and leave - it's in amongst a retail park.
Checked in later in the evening after a day out in New Forest. Rooms are ok - though the mattresses were a bit springy (when are hotels going to start providing firm mattresses?). Breakfast bar was good, provided warm beans/eggs/bacon/sausage - particularly like the mini pain au chocolat, these were nice and tasty. Selection of yoghurts provided too. Overall, a good value stay for the night and able to claim some cashback via Topcashback :-D

a little touch of home

Posted Aug 16, 2014
After almost a month in Ireland and England, it was a very nice change to stay in a hotel with an elevator, an ice machine, and a free newspaper in the morning. Would have been very hard to find without our GPS. The only real negative was the food....not too good at night or the next morning.

Pros: Good breakfast, friendly staff and clean.
Cons: Check if customer needs sofa bed made up.
Location: Plenty to do in the area.
Good hotel but sofa bed not made up on arrival, which was annoying.
