Overnight stay before going on a cruise from South

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Food very limited burgers and chips seem to be the best option. Very noisy, place was packed with families with young children. We where told about a pub nearby who did food, which was excellent, but so popular we waited an he for our food. We had a room with a connecting door, so all we could hear was a young child crying. No toiletries, only liquid soap, next morning was a debacle, we waited for them to clear a table, they had run out of everything the coffee was disgusting.,and on complaining we where told, sorry !! Its very busy.children where running around everywhere, We have stayed in premier inns Travel lodges,at half the price, paying £85 for B and B we expected a lot more.Never again.

Convenient

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Welcome, location , breakfast
Cons: Quality of the bed
Location: We only used it as a stopover. Handy for Southampton but you would need a car to get anywhere.
Easy to find, good location for our needs. V welcoming receptionist , good breakfast. We had the disability room, which was a bit odd but fine. Only downside was the bed, it was like a trampoline . A much better mattress required.

Decent hotel that covers all the essentials.

Pros: Clean and modern. Good value for money. There's free Wi-Fi even though all the information I was sent in advance stated there would be a charge.
Cons: The hot selection at breakfast's not great - the scrambled egg was rubbery and the sausages seemed low-quality. I stuck to cereal & toast on day 2!
I stayed the weekend here, my first visit to this particular Holiday Inn. I wasn't sure what to expect as it seemed a bit in the middle of nowhere (you really couldn't stay here without a car!). It turned out to be clean, modern, and the room was a good size and very comfortable. I was on the motorway side of the building but with the window closed I didn't find any problems with traffic noise. The staff were helpful and polite throughout my stay.

Convenient and good room size

Posted Jun 17, 2014
Cons: Convenient to M3
Location: We were just in Southampton to attend a netball rally but some of the other diners at breakfast were heading off to Peppa Pig land
I stayed in this holiday Inn Express with my daughter and her friend for one night to attend the Dreams Netball rally. We had a triple room which was plenty big enough for the 3 of us. Comfortable, there was a fan provided as it was a warm evening. Breakfast a tad disappointing & the cleanliness of mugs and bowls was very poor. However, once pointed out to the catering staff the tray was removed, I guess to go another cycle through the dishwasher! All in all a good place to get your head down for the night, staff were friendly and accommodating.

For one night only

Posted May 21, 2014
Pros: was good value clean and suited out requirements
Cons: biscuits with the tea/coffee in the room
Location: just on the edge of Southampton
As you can guess we only booked 1 night. Nice girl on reception was very helpful when we checked in (we needed help planning car parking in and around Southampton). she gave us a choice of floor for our room - we opted for a ground floor room. Arriving back at the hotel about 7pm there were a lot of people standing around outside having a drink and socializing, the car park was fairly packed and we thought we may be in for a noisy night but our room and the hall were quiet and we spent a pleasant nights sleep. The room was clean and spacious as was the bathroom, beds comfortable. On the down side the room was a little too warm and the TV kept freezing on some channels and would have liked a biscuit with the tea/coffee. Breakfast was more than ample, all usual things - didn't eat any hot stuff but looked ok and you could have as much as you liked. Overall good value

Great hotel

Posted May 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is situated close to the M27 and only 3.8 miles from Southampton centre. I experienced excellent service throughout my stay - including being able to take breakfast 30 mins before the restaurant opened. Would recommend to others
