“Great break”

Everything was lovely and clean, the swiimming pool was brilliant, the staff very helpful and knowledgeable and the breakfast was amazing. It is cheaper to book your breakfast the night before and it is well worth the money and children eat free!

“Will use this chain again”

This was our first visit to a Holiday Inn - on a recommendation - and we were very pleasantly surprised. The location was good, the room very comfortable and the staff very polite and helpful. Although we may not need to go to Portsmouth in the near future we would certainly stay at Holiday Inns again and would definitely recommend this one.

“Good value, excellent location”

Ideal for a weekend in the city, close to the sea and the shops but in a quiet area with no noise. Good car park and very friendly, helpful staff. Asked and received a sea view room which was ideal and comfortable. Used the bar - OK, didn't use restaurant or spa but the latter looked clean and inviting - just ran out of time.

“Nice Holiday Inn close to Gunwharf Quays”

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night whilst heading to Goodwood races. The hotel is in a good location, a 10 minute walk from Gunwharf Quays where we spent the night. The hotel is well kept, the rooms are good, it has a decent bar and onsite swimming pool.

“Adequate at best.”

Hotel was clean, but room amenities only adequate. Shower curtain too short and too light (clung to me as I showered). Tiny soap provided. Breakfast buffet price extremely high if one only wanted cereal and coffee. Internet cost was extremely high. Front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful.

“Some good some not so good!”

We had to call the housekeeper as the bed had not been properly made, they came and sorted it for us.The shower was very hard to use and again had to have it looked at.The room was very small but on a plus side the location was very good.

“Average in all aspects”

Good location, free parking, spacious room were the best points. Swimming pool area looked good. Generally the hotel felt a bit dated. Bar prices are high and choice of beverages limited.

“Meh”

I paid quite a lot for a 2 bed, 'deluxe room' When I got there the room was tiny, and had one queen sized bed. Went down to the desk and was informed that was indeed a deluxe, and they had no more 2-beds, so put me in that one. They offered to wheel in a cot, I said no because I honestly did not know where it would go, there was hardly enough space for my luggage. The staff put on a smile, but obviously didn't care. It felt like they had had similar complaints before and were just going through the motions. I was not impressed. I will not be going back

“I can't get no sleep”

I wasn't expecting ritz, just a bog standard chain hotel to lay my head and sleep, but unfortunately this hotel was a let down. I could hear the hotels reception entrance music from my room, which kept me awake. The service from reception staff can only be described as appalling. The overall hotel was a little dated but clean and the pool was nice. I think there is far better available in the area for less money.
