Hot FoodPosted Dec 2, 2014
The food for both Dinner and Breakfast arrived nice and hot on hot plates. It was very fresh, not at all dried out, very pleasing.

Hotel can't cope with guests.Posted Nov 24, 2014
Had to queue for pool, twice. Pool capacity is 18 people which is ridiculous given the size of the hotel. No steak knifes, apparently the hotel only has 12, according to staff! Noisy room. 102. Pool pump started at 6 am on sun morning and woke us. Not enough staff at breakfast. No bowls. No plates. Asked for tea 3 times b4 I got it. Long wait for cooked breakfast. Hotel doesn't cover the basics.

Good but ....Posted Nov 12, 2014
Pros: Spa - until the kids arrived - Food is good, breakfast is excellent. Room is comfortable.
Cons: There seems to be a need for more tables in the bar for food - reception is slow but friendly.
Location: Isolated but has all in house. There is a pub close by but nothing too inspiring - typical spa / sports hotel -they have you so you survive.
Waited to check in - lots of people doing lots of things and to be fair they did start the process... Spa awaited and then a kids swimming class ......... room was good. Down to the bar / restaurant - wanted a bar meal but there is the strange situation of having 50 chairs but 8 tables - in the end ate in a lounge which was fine and the staff appear to recognise there is a problem but there is little they can do.. BREAKFAST IS EXCELLENT and across the board it is difficult to say that anything is wrong it is not just as "right" as it could be.

Great staff and good foodPosted Nov 9, 2014
Pros: The welcome and courtesy of the staff made us feel very comfortable even though we were only staying one night as a journey stopover.
Cons: Bedroom cleanliness and pillows.
Location: Golf and spa on site, close to retail park
Staff without exception were welcoming, attentive and very friendly. We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, both were very good and dinner particularly was superb. Bedroom was ok, the skirting boards were dusty and could do with a more thorough clean. Pillows are awful, far too soft.

DisappointingPosted Oct 28, 2014
The hotel is modern in design and from the outside resembles a conference venue. Architure is boring and bland and is akin to a senior living facility. The reception area is a badly designed space with a piano in the corner, two sofas and a table. It's bland and uninviting. No finishing touches here just a boring hall with downlighting. The Excutive Room was a tad small and no frills. Great for golf or spa but not for a romantic weekend away. The restaurant is a total joke, the menu is pure pub food and in no way is representive of a 4 star hotel. The chef has no training and that was clear due to the under cooked food and poor choice. Think Diner with 4 star price and you get the picture. Breakfast was a total joke, a 40 minute wait to be seated, poorly trained staff and apathy ruled here. I witnessed several couples leave after waiting an hour and half for their full English. If you attended a conferance that you were invited for free you would probably tolerate this abysmal service. As a paying guest it is simply totally unacceptable and way below the level that any guest should accept. Avoid.

Great for the most partPosted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: Clean, quiet, great facilities
Cons: Jacuzzi needed, there's space! Breakfast rushed, bar not replenished! Staff hastily getting rid of us meaning we didn't get the chance to enjoy food
Location: Southampton Mayflower only 30 mins away. Visit Manor House Farm if you have young children.
Lovely break in a relaxing hotel. Sadly we didn't have time to enjoy the golf facilities but the spa was comforting, I'm not sure why the Jacuzzi space has been tiled over though. The room was comfortable though the mattress could probably do with replacing and the room did get cold in the middle of the night. Breakfast was quite rushed, due to the mood of the staff. We didn't get to enjoy the breakfast bar due to a lack of plates and food, though 3 different members of staff offered to replenish our toast and our cooked breakfast order was taken before I had the chance to look at the menu. Overall though the hotel did exceed my expectations.

decent enough but a little tired in placesPosted Oct 4, 2014
Room410 feature double. Large room with bath and shower. very comfy bed but the room was a little tired in places. the bath has dirty grouting and the ceiling had a big stain. Room service was quick, breakfast decent. the gym is good too. Not bad for £140
