Best Hotel to stay in the Portsmouth area

Posted Sep 18, 2013
Pros: The bed itself was really comfortable and the breakfast was filling.
Cons: Inside the hotel was great. The outside could do with a lick of paint
Location: As I was there for a business meeting, I didn't have a chance to look around.
I was looking around for a hotel in Portsmouth as I had a last minute meeting at the Naval Base and all the usual hotels by Gun Wharf had sold out of cheaper rooms and were charging £200 for the night. I came across Queens Classic Hotel by chance and booked it up. The hotel itself is only a short cab ride from the station and will cost you around £5 (as of 2013). You can walk to the hotel as well. The building could do with a slight touch up on the outside but the inside is fantastic. The hotel staff were all polite and the room was spacious. The bed was really comforatble. Breakfast was good, a mix of continental and English Breakfast.

Location: Enjoyed shopping and harbour trip, would like to do hovercraft in future.
We were in a sea view family room that was as well appointed as any five star hotel.
