“Amazing staff make up for the poor up-keep of the hotel”
I stayed at the Southampton Park Hotel for five nights during September 2011, whilst I was on a course. The hotel itself is much in need of refurbishment: the advocado bathroom suite, with a shower which lacked the water pressure I'd expect whilst staying in a hotel, were clean, but very outdated. The bedroom itself was also a little rundown and very small. However it fit the purpose and the facilities were okay at the hotel.
One thing that I would comment on here though, is despite my above criticism, the staff at the hotel were fantastic: they were friendly, helpful, polite and always happy to help. I could not fault the customer service by the staff.
So all in all, a bit of a run down hotel, but first class staff keeping it going. For the price I paid, I was satisfied with the hotel, whilst staying on my own, although would have been disapointed if I had booked the hotel to visit on a leisure weekend with my wife.
