Nice accommodation but close to busy road.

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: Good breakfast and pleasant staff.
Location: More of a stop over on the way to the New Forest than a destination.
Very pleasant and welcoming staff. Good food and a pleasant comfortable room. Pub is on a very busy road though. Our room was round the back so was quite quiet but it could be noisy if staying at the front.

You get what you pay for

Posted Aug 5, 2014
The lady at checkin and when we left was very friendly and helpful. Our room was quite small but clean and had what we needed. The Inn is on a very busy main road which made it difficult to sleep, the breakfast was ok, bit too greasy for my liking but as my title said you get what you pay for! There is definite room for improvement!

Arrived late afternoon, the `executive room' was not ready .The Hotel was not fit for purpose , untidy, scruffy substandard in every way. ,Needless to say we did not take up our booking but went on to Bournemouth to spend the night in a very comfortable hotel that was also less expensive. I would like to think that you wilI visit this establishment and see for yourselves . David

Not the place to stay if you want peace and quiet.

Pros: Breakfast and the comfortable bed.
Cons: The rooms at the front should either not be let or should be triple glazed and air conditioned. The front of the building needs cleaning up.
Location: Location is probably good for tourism, but not on the A36.
Nice old building, but right on the edge of a very, very busy A road where the traffic starts around 4.30am. Impossible to leave a window open at night because of the noise and pollution. Supposed to be a double room, but so small there was not enough room for a chair. The bed, however, was comfortable and the room clean although my bed was not made or the room cleaned on one day. Bathroom very small and the shower very difficult to use with one very stiff knob to turn - almost impossible with wet hands. Rooms reached by an outside staircase which meant walking along the narrow pavement to the front door to reach the dining room for breakfast. Breakfast was good. The TV was also difficult to work, but the staff were very pleasant.

Convenient stopover before taking a cruise

Posted May 17, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: 30 minutes from Southampton and 10 minutes from the New Forest.
Nice, clean basic room and good food in the pub downstairs. It is located on a busy main road but for one night it wasn't a problem. Check in and Check out was very straight forward. Would stay again.

Good one night stop

Pros: See above
Cons: None
Location: N/A
The Inn has a good atmosphere, being it's on a main road the vehicles make quite a lot of noise, even it's a 40mph speed area(ha ha), but still managed to sleep. The evening meal we have was very good and very good portions. Our dog also enjoyed the evening in the bar with all the locals. The full English breakfast was also good.

Wouldn't stay again!

This was NOT the best B&B we have ever stayed in. In fairness the room was clean and comfortable but the very busy road noise makes sleep of any kind impossible.... Staff were grumpy / bordering rude and everything seemed a bit of an effort for them. The breakfast was DISGUSTING and the cutlery and plates were dirty. Yes it was cheap (£55 per night including breakfast) but pay another £20 if you like anything more than very, very BAD!

Overnight stop

Positive points are the friendly, family staff and excellent food available at reasonable prices. The only negative is the proximity of the rooms to the main A36 which resulted in a disturbed night's sleep. Room fans are provided as windows stay shut!

Good B&B close to Peppa Pig World

Posted Apr 12, 2014
Pros: The room and the chef.
Cons: Hahaha to kill the traffic around.
Location: Peppa Pig's World is very much recommended for children from 2 years old till around 10 years. My grandson was 2 years and he loved it.
We came with my grandson to Peppa Pig World and stay over night in their best room. Nice, clean, personnel very friendly and the best is their chef - We ate an exquisite meal very unusual for a pub. Even their English Breakfast was tasteful, well presented, with respect for the client. We discussed about the pros and cons between this type of B&B and a classical hotel where the rooms and the personnel do not have a personality. Definitely if we will come back we will use same hotel.
