Very Nice Hotel in WinchesterPosted Nov 23, 2013
We had a double room. The room was spacious by European standards with a good sized bathroom with an excellent shower. Dinner in the restaurant was absolutely fantastic, but not cheap. Breakfast was included and fantastic. We had some difficulty finding the hotel (GPS was taking us behind the hotel. We only stayed one night on a driving tour of the UK, but would stay here again if I was ever in Winchester!

A Pleasant StayPosted Sep 26, 2013
Pros: The staff, the restaurant and the location.
Cons: Maybe better television channels.
Location: Most points of interest (Winchester Cathedral, the Great Hall, etc) shopping and restaurants are within a pleasant15-20 minute walk.
Out room was fairly small, but comfortable and clean. We found the staff courteous and helpful? The location makes for a very nice walk into town and the majors sites. We would stay here again.

Friendly staff, room too hot, no hot showerPosted Aug 30, 2013
Pros: Helpful staff
Cons: Refurb of rooms, replacement air conditioners, provision of hot water when taking a shower!
The hotel staff were friendly and the room was old and a little worn but satisfactory quality (by UK standards!) although no tv remote in the room... Had to call reception to have one brought to me. The big problem I had was that the room was extremely hot and the loud air conditioner was not effective in reducing the temperature. Also, in the morning there was no hot water to take a shower. Spa area was ok but pool was too small to swim in. They did kindly allow me to park in the hotel car park for a few additional hours after check out which was useful. Internet (wifi) was fast and worked well. TV was quite new and had plenty of channels (freeview) and was a good size.

Winchester weekendPosted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness, staff civility and helpfulness, proximity to town centre and railway
Cons: The smoking area was totally inadequate. Located at the front of the building to one side of the entrance it was standing room only in one corner.
Location: Location was perfect for railway station and town centre: Sight seeing and meal out.
On arrival we required a taxi booking for the following morning. The staff were very happy to oblige and very polite. The accommodation was spotless. Would recommend any time. By booking with Expedia, we were very pleased with the cost of the room.

Great service and pleasant hotel.Posted Aug 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
Staff were so friendly on reception. They let us leave our car in the secure car park before check-in and gave us directions to the town. We changed room because we had requested a double but got given a twin but this was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Pool was lovely. There were only 4 of us using it, but as it's quite an small pool could get crowded easily. Breakfast was tasty and fresh, though nothing out of the ordinary. Would stay again.

Fab stylish hotelPosted Aug 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
I liked the feel of the hotel from the moment I stepped in the door. Secure parking at the back, prompt welcome and room allocation, lovely room and comfy bed. Had planned to go into town for dinner, but ended up being lured into the dining room by its stylish décor. Good dinner and service. Overall a very pleasant stay, thank you.

Excellent Spa Hotel close to CityPosted Jul 31, 2013
Cons: better service at the bar and terrace
An excellent hotel with very pleasant Spa facilities and good staff. Our one night stay was not ong enough and I would be more than happy to go back. The room was very clean and well appointed and apart from one glitch at the bar the staff were more than accomodating. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the city and catherdral. The Spa was very good - well equipped changing facilities and very pleasant pool area. I would wholeheartedly recommend the hotel to anyone wanting to stay close to the coty but away from the noise and traffic of the centre.

Good quality upmarket hotel...Posted Jul 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
Rooms of good size, comfy beds, fridge in room, free wifi, lovely spa, small pool with current jets, enjoyable treatments, quite a long hilly walk into town but good parking, co op & tesco express close by. Food in restaurant good quality gastro pub fare. Nice terrace but no garden.
