Quiet Hotel in Isolated LocationPosted Jul 1, 2015
Pros: The location.
Location: Peaceful rural location. Lovely villages nearby.
Food was good, service poor. It took 40 mins to serve the special of the day. (A pie.) The room had only one bedside table and a full length mirror leaning against the wall obstructing access to one side of the bed.

Great, comfortable little pubPosted Mar 18, 2015 on Hotels
Great little pub with fantastic menu and breakfast, highly recommended although the wifi isn't great unless you're in your bedroom and there's no mobile signal but apart from that, fantastic!!

Quiet valley, peaceful rural location, lovely foodPosted Feb 17, 2015
Pros: Dining/bar area had a great atmosphere, service was efficient and friendly, food superb
Cons: Room starting to look as if it would need a makeover soon but all facilities fine. Great shower !
Location: Nice walks linked from the pub website. Alresford and Winchester very near, both well worth a visit
Pub was very warm and welcoming, food excellent, overnight accommodation good.

pleasant country pubPosted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: Friendly, clean and well run. Nicely decorated - very stylish. Had the feeling that there was real energy and commitment from the management.
Cons: Drainage in the bathroom. Ventilation in the room.
Location: Very quiet area which was lovely. Near to Winchester and Jane Austen's house. Looked like there would be good walking.
The hotel was very welcoming. The staff were friendly. The room was nicely decorated and had everything you could want. It was a bit tight on space but for one night it was absolutely fine. There was not much ventilation - only one very small window that could open - which is maybe why it smelt of damp. The bathroom was nicely done but the shower and sink didn't drain well at all. The management say that they are aware of the situation and the rooms are scheduled for renovation in January. That seems a long time to wait for a shower that drains! The service at the bar and in the restaurant was brisk, on the verge of being hurried. The food was good. The dining area was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, with great coffee too. All in all a good experience.

Excellent stayPosted Sep 22, 2014
Cons: Label the coffees
Location: Location was more in the middle of nowhere then I expected but was no problem for an evening stay. Winchester is a lovely place full of history.
The Woolpack itself is a lovely place and the room was immaculate. The cherry on the cake was the commitment and passion of the staff and their customer service with smiles. The food was good and the seating areas outside lovely and well looked after..

Nice place - shame about the neighbours!Posted Sep 16, 2014 on Hotels
Rooms were adequate (could do with a bit of updating) unfortunately we had an adjoining room with a noisy couple next door which tarnished the experience for us. Would stay there again just because of the service we received. Everyone was very friendly and we were genuinely impressed with the restaurant. Its well worth the wait until 9am for a proper cooked breakfast!

Luxury you can afford!Posted Aug 19, 2014
Location: Jane Austen's house is a delight. Winchester is only 15 minutes away.
Welcomed by charming staff, our room was called Partridge. Comfortable bed, fluffy pillows and a deep double ended bath tub were luxurious touches in this great value for money inn with rooms. Delicious dinner, with inventive cooking and generous portions. Breakfast - everything from Eggs Benedict to fresh croissants was scrumptious. A really lovely evening and overnight stay - would thoroughly recommend it!
