Lovely hotel with excellent location.

Pros: Central yet quiet location with easy walk to Cathedral, shopping centre, bars, and theatre.
Cons: Not having the stock of toilet rolls and cleaning equipment stored on view above the baby changing area in the ladies toilet opposite reception.
Location: Visit the cathedral , shopping, lovely eateries bars and pubs. Independant shops in the high street.
Had a very comfortable stay with a mixture of traditional and modern rooms. Lovely views from room of walled garden shown at its best in the Spring sunshine.

Lovely, central Hotel.

We only stayed a night, but there were eight of us and we all enjoyed our stay in this hotel. I found the beds extremely comfortable and our rooms overlooking the walled garden were lovely. Breakfast was nicely laid out and food all hot and tasty. The staff were all friendly but not intrusive and service good all weekend. The Hotel was ideal for visiting the Cathedral and shops and great for a mini-break. Thank you! Only one slight issue was with the booking. I would suggest calling the hotel direct to confirm any detail in the booking as there were discrepancies between Expedia and the Hotel. Everything was sorted out quickly though and there were no problems once there!

It is a lovely hotel in the centre of Winchester.

Pros: We loved it
Location: In the centre of the town and it is very close to everything you want to see and the shops.
We have stayed there several times but it has had a refurb since our last time. I must say I loved the decor and the huge great bed. We overlooked the beautiful garden shame it was too chilly for us to sit out in it but some other guest did.

Beautiful hotel in excellent location

This hotel is about five minutes walk to to the train station and right in the heart of the city centre. I had a ground room, which looked out on to the garden. The room was big with everything you would expect - tea/coffee, ironing board, wifi etc. Room and bathroom were spotless. The main plus was I was able to get into my room at 10:30am in the morning even though check in didn't technically start until 2pm. I needed to get ready to go to a wedding so this was a major plus for me. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. I would definitely stay here again.

9 out of 10! Perfect for a weekend in Winchester

Posted Mar 16, 2014
We would definitely recommend this hotel it is perfectly situated right in centre of Winchester. Hotel staff were friendly and rooms very clean. The food was excellent and would recommend the deal for two courses and a bottle for £39. The only down side was the beds were two singles pushed together and the was no phone or wifi code ( which I had to ask for) in room. But these are minor points the breakfast was delicious so all in all 9 out of 10.

Penny pinching

Posted Jan 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
There is a lot good about this hotel. Aside from the tick boxes, I would mention the very friendly staff, which seems to be a Winchester trait! Lovely. But, at this price I would think you could include free parking - the lot was not full and added £20 to the price of the stay. Also, breakfast (at the bargain price of £10 each if booked in advance) was very average and they had the cheek to charge a £3.00 supplement for two tiny kippers (one of which was left). We had breakfast out the second morning.
