"Does what it says but the racetrack outside......."
Hotel is exactly what you expect from a Holiday Inn, a chain that usually is a good standard and you know what to expect. This was ideal for our visit and we knew what you were coming to. Staff were very good and helpful and accommodation was fine (maybe a bit better lighting for reading by - the angle lamps weren't much good). I saw from previous reviews that a room at the back of the hotel would be quieter and contacted them a month ago to ask for one - receiving a confirmation that we would get one. On arrival we were offered a 1st floor room at the front, when we showed the email this changed to a third floor at the front which overlooks the London equivalent of the Monaco Grand prix (24 hour version). We were provided with earplugs which were useless but looked pretty. Overall if you like noise it is fine, if not then ask for a room at the back and refuse anything else. Apart from that gripe the hotel is perfectly acceptable.

Pocket Guide: London Hampstead IHG Hotels

Set on a hill surrounded by parkland, Hampstead is the most attractive (and desirable) of London’s villages. Blue plaques on buildings attest to such diverse ex-residents as Constable, Freud, Karl Marx and John Keats. Camden Town is one of London’s best bohemian-urban places to eat, drink and shop, its colourful markets a tourist hotspot for clothes and crafts. By night Camden buzzes with dozens of live music venues, clubs, pubs, bars and restaurants.
