The hotel stay was OK for the most part. The towels had a slight tint on them and the toilet didn't work all the time. It would be good for a place to sleep and not for staying inside the room for long periods of time. The hotel staff was really nice though.

I arrived late in the evening around 10 pm. The leaves on the trees covered the exterior lighting making it very dark around the buildings exterior & entrance, which was very concerning for a woman traveling alone. Pulling into the front there were several ladies out smoking at the entrance and one of the ladies stated that she would be right with me. The woman came in promptly and was very friendly. There were several people hanging out in the lobby exchanging pleasantries with the front desk lady. You get the sense that many of these people lived there or were family members especially looking at their attire. I was given my key and I went to my room. The room was decorated very nicely with updated bedding. Both the bathroom, kitchenette & bedroom appeared to be clean.

Check In went very smoothly, the clerk Tuesday was very welcoming and informative. The elevators had food particles on the floor. The room was not too bad, nothing extravagant, the shower could of been cleaner. We could of done without the couch, it looked worn and un kept. The accent chair had stains in it. The bed was uncomfortable. The first night's stay I could not sleep at all for hearing teenagers run up and down the hall playing and making noise between 12am and 2 am, it was ridiculous. My bed sheets was not changed from one nights stay to the next. The breakfast was okay; the cookies at check in was good. I'm not going to say that I wouldn't stay again, but it would not be a first choice.

Set on the world's largest natural harbor, Hampton features the biggest stone fort ever built in the United States: Fort Monroe. The fort contains the Casemate Museum and such historical draws as the cell that held Confederate President Jefferson Davis. Conversely, the Virginia Air and Space Center offers more otherworldly sights, with exhibits of Apollo 12's Command Module and a Mars meteorite.
