The hotel is perfectly located for walks around the Lake. It has a large and beautiful chinese style garden. The breakfast is also top class. Staff very friendly. One special praise for Amy Chen who serves in breakfast team, she is so amicable and kind!

A lovely Hotel which captures Hangzhou's beauty
My family and I had a most wonderful experience at the Four Seasons Hangzhou 2 weeks back. The hotel grounds and rooms were beautiful - great effort in retaining traditional oriental architecture but with modern conveniences. Our experience was also greatly enhanced by the 6-star service which the Four Seasons Hangzhou staff provided, from the manager to the reception and concierge staff, the executive chefs and the restaurant staff! They were all incredibly warm, helpful and knowledgeable and never failed to amaze me by being able to anticipate my every need and going out of their way to assist me, always with a smile!. Overall, this was one of my best hotel stays in my many years of hotel stays around the world.

Again, I am a happy customer of four seasons. The hotel meets all my expectation. The staffs behind the concierge desk are super helpful. For example, when they knew we were planning to take a bike ride the next morning, they got the bikes ready before 5:30am. The cleaning lady took care all the detail. When she found that we were washing our own clothes, she asked to bring in the bars for hanging them herself. Just feel that we were taken care of so well. BTW, try that boating + breakfast private tour in the morning. It is such a wonderful experience

The wonderful stay at the 4 Seasons Hotel
It was a really good stay. The WL Bistro, we discovered ants while we were eating breakfast. The food was fantastic, though.

Stay at your own risk.
You may have room service knocking on your door very early in the morning for an order you did not place even when you have the do not disturb light on. Also, do not use the taxi driver that the hotel works with. He will overcharge you. However, lobby staff Penny was very helpful and informative.

Quite possibly the best hotel experience I have ever had. Design, ambience, feel and finish quality were superb., but the real gem was the staff. Everywhere we went we were greeted warmly by name and the attention to detail and ensuring our every need was met was faultless. Pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Beautiful Property and Incredible Staff
We stayed three nights in April 2018 and had a truly rejuvenating and lovely experience. The hotel is situated within an easy walk to West Lake and the Botanical Gardens -- and the hotel grounds are as lovely as the surrounding area -- full of beautifully tended garden paths, quiet spots to sit in the shade and take in the trees, flowers, and eye-catching architecture of the hotel and its charming stone features and fountains. The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful - from the Reception (warm welcome) and Concierge staff (helpful tips and great restaurant suggestions), to the housekeeping staff (best turn-down service ever), to the Ocean, the WL Bistro manager, who went out of his way to make us feel at home. The WL Bistro breakfasts included a myriad of excellent options - a great way to start the day. Our room was well-appointed, comfortable, and spotless. Perfect for the both business traveler (spacious writing and work station) and a romantic get-away (lovely sun room/terrace where we would take breakfasts). The gym was well-equipped and the indoor pool was a serene and lovely. I didn't have a chance to enjoy the spa - but the ladies locker room had an incredible steam room and ice fountain. I'm already planning to visit again next year and a trip to Hangzhou wouldn't be complete without a stay here.

We enjoyed our stay at Four Seasons very much. The hotel is luxurious and has an extensive beautiful traditional garden to explore. Location is perfect since it is between the Lingyin temple and tea plantation area and the west lake. It was a 15 minutes walk to the West Lake Impression site, and we revisited the area and Sui Causeway the next morning to enjoy the cherry blossoms. The whole area is just stunning. The service was excellent too, they were very welcoming and helped me in recommending itinerary, booking and even collecting our show tickets.

Amazing hospitality and beautiful rooms
I was extremely impressed with the staff at the Four Seasons in Hangzhou. They were very accommodating, from the moment we stepped into the hotel to when we left Hangzhou. The attention to detail was impeccable, for example leaving a small bookmark next to my book which was left on the nightstand. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathtub was the best way to relax after a long day of exploring! The staff were very helpful with recommendations and they were friendly as well. I hope to come back soon and I could not recommend this hotel enough!

The best experience I ever had
I have to say when it comes to service the four Seasons is definitely the best. The layout of the hotel was chic and beautiful. The service of each staff was off the charts. Every staff spoke English and they made my stay a memorable and hassle free one. The location was awesome and there’s a boat ride straight from the hotel to the west lake! Though the price is slightly steep but it is worth every penny. The spa is the highlight of my stay. The decor is the best I have seen and the masseur was superb. I would say it’s more of a seven star hotel experience. If anyone is heading to Westlake the Four Seasons should be your TOP choice.

Those rooms, and those gardens, and those pools, and that osmanthus, and that Lake — all superlative adjective-taxing though they most certainly are — are still somehow not the headline. That distinction belongs to the staff, whose professionalism, precision, perspicacity, and palpable warmth put the sheen on every one of this Leaf's five stars. Speaking of stars: a constellation of staff members beamed incessantly during our three-night stay. There were too many deeds and too many doers, alas, to name individually, but we would like to extend special appreciation to Robert and Randy for their personal efforts to enhance our stay. Finally, our sincerest gratitude and brava! to our party's Polaris, Vicky Yang, for her luminosity.

It's been a fantastic experience staying at this hotel with excellent service. We stayed there for 4 nights, my wife is allergic to certain foods after our first meal in their restaurant, they kept the record and informed others and next time we went to restaurant they know exactly when we order some foods they will inform us and check on her allergic to certain ingredients.

Can highly recommend visiting Hangzhou. We had only one night, which was far too short. The hotel is very sophisticated / elegant / tranquil. At the far end of the lake (and not on the main lake itself). Close to the light show, which is well worth seeing. The service is excellent / rooms are very nice / breakfast is great, as is all to be expected for the price. Is it worth it? Not really convinced, as there are limited facilities at the hotel itself, and they offered little special in terms of accessing the lake / unique tours etc. You are paying for the exclusivity / tranquility. Other hotels on the lake are far more standard / corporate type. Would I stay again on my next visit. Probably.

Probably the best hotel in Hangzhou
We only spent a night here and we all agreed it was too short. I've stayed at quite a few other 5* hotels in Hangzhou and this one is by far the best. Lovely service at the reception (Thank you Vicky!) and we were really well taken care of throughout our stay - that includes scoring us a much-coveted table at Jin Sha (which serves probably the best Hangzhou-style food in town). Both the grounds and the rooms were beautifully designed in traditional Chinese style, but with all the modern luxuries. Easily one of the best hotels we've stayed at in China.

We have to walk a few minutes to West Lake but it is a suitable location for me. It is not crowded by the tourists at the nearby roads. The hotel sttaffs' recommendations are very helpful. According to their information, we have experienced a wonderful sight seeing and delicious local foods dining from a few hundred to thousand dollar meal. We are very surprised the dishes in the Chinese restaurant at the hotel, are fantastic and tasteful.
