“ARJ & KD at Hangzhou”

Enjoyed our stay at Hangzhou Hua Chen International Hotel but we cannot say that this is an international hotel as only one staff could speak english. Everything went fine with our stay.

Downtone hotel two blocks off the West Lake. Business hotel with a excellent brakfast on the top floor with a great view. Short ride to train station, long ride to airport.

Really enjoyed my stay, the staff were all freindly and was pleastly suprised by how many of the staff spoke English, could not have asked for better.

The hotel staff was great and the hotel itself was clean and spacious. The only problem with the hotel is that they turn off the A/C in the morning. Supposedly, it's mandated by the city in an effort to conserve energy. So if you plan on staying in the hotel during the day time, I would not recommend this hotel.

“Nice hotel in Hangzhou”

We got in late at night and only stayed here for a night, however we had a good experience. Free broadband internet in the rooms, plus decent breakfast spread for a Local Hotel. Rooms were nice and clean albeit a little small however the cleanliness surpassed everything else. We got non-smoking rooms and they were purely non smoking which was good. Recommended for business travellers needing to stay in Hangzhou. Cant say much about location as we were picked up by our client.

Good convienent hotel. Close to night market & West Lake. The breakfast offered is mainly Chinese, the choice of western style food is very limited.

My room (1505), overlooking the back of hotel was a bit small but ok, except for the mildew in the shower stall and the shower head which was covered with mold. The ladies at reception and the tour booking desk were all professional and friendly. If you need someone who speaks well in english go see Jennifer. I came a cross this incident which I should report so other traveller won't fall into this trap. Here is the story: I asked a young tall gentleman dressed in suite in the lobby, I think he is in charge of that shift that I wanted to go to Longing plantation or a tourist place where I can buy some green tea, and I also asked if I can take the taxi there but he insisted that I take the hotel car with the driver and that it would cost me 50 yuen. Once in the car and on the way to longing plantation, the driver introduced himself and mentioned he used to be a green tea farmer and knows green tea very well and the price of green tea price is between 600 to 1200 yuen, at this time I felt a trap is in progress. At the top of the plantation, he stop at a house and a lady was waiting for me, I asked the driver if this is the only place where I can buy tea and he said yes! I told the driver I am not buying tea anymore take me back to the hotel. Before we got back to the hotel, the young fellow from the hotel phone the driver and asked him if I bought any tea, the driver replied "no" and said that I may had understood his conversation with the lady at the plantation.
