Dear guests, thanks for your patronage and comments. "Located in downtown, sitting beside the West Lake" is the best portrayal of the hotel. The hotel was the first to through ISO 9000 Certification. To Go Green and Save Green is what we always do. We strive to be the most cost-effective Hotel. And your feedback is quite important in our improvement process. We will continue to work hard and try our best to get your perfect score on your next visit. Wish you and your family a very happy tourist.

A lovely stay

Posted Dec 21, 2013
This was the best 4 star hotel I stayed in during my time in China. Location is great, only a 10 minute walk from West Lake and buses to many attractions are only a few blocks away. The rooms are comfortable and well-supplied, they even provided free seasonal fruit! They also have a smoke-free floor which was great. When I arrived the manager saw I was struggling with my luggage and ran over to help me, then he looked after it whilst I checked in and even accompanied me to my room! I was delighted with the service, but some of the younger staff were not as polite. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hua Chen and would recommend it to anyone who's in Hangzhou for travel and looking for a reasonable price.

A typical Chinese style hotel

Posted Dec 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
I booked this hotel having read some reviews on TA. Our first experience upon entering the room was one of disappointment. We booked the queen bed room (and emailed request for this to be changed to a twin but they didn't oblige) and it was no bigger than a standard double sized bed. The room was small, stuffy and the bathroom, dingy. The bed was also super hard and uncomfortable. It also didn't feel very clean. There's also loud rallying music which plays each morning around 9am. No sleeping in! However upon staying there, the location was unbeatable, walking distance to xihu and a nearby night market, foot massage places and restaurants a plenty. The hotel also offers a drop off service to the dragon well mountains and back for 50rmb. You can also take the bus which is right outside for 2rmb each. Depends on which experience you'd prefer. The showers were nice, hot and powerful. Good after a day of sightseeing. The hotel fits a purpose but I wouldn't want to stay at it again.

Decent hotel with a convenient location

Posted Dec 4, 2013
Pros: The room was decent and clean, albeit a little small. Everything worked okay although we had a little problem activating central heating.
Cons: There was a stench of tobacco when central heating was activated so this could be improved with better filtration. WiFi was also poor in most places.
Location: The location was convenient, with access to West Lake and shopping areas within a 10 minute walk.

Closed proximity to night market, f&b & Xihu Lake.

Posted Nov 11, 2013
Pros: Good location and convenient. Coach pick-up point to airport is at another hotel next door.
Cons: Increase room size & install air-conditioning.
Location: Night market, good shopping, near to Xihu Lake and f&b shops. About 10-15 minutes walk to nearest Metro station.
Clean & tidy but small. No designated space for putting luggage and baggage. Without turning on air-conditioning coupled with small space, it had been quite a discomfort stay. After a full-day out, a good ventilated air-conditioning room would be necessary for a good night sleep.

Service and ambience

Posted Nov 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
The ladies at the counter were super helpful. Please reward them. As we come from a hot country, the non-airconditioning of the rooms mars our otherwise good stay. Although the hotel staff were helpful in supplying us a fan, it would be so much better if the air con was available. however, we understand that you have to abide by certain rules to conserve energy. Maybe, we can have a mobile aircon!!!

Never stay in this hotel.

Posted Oct 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
I would suggest everyone not to stay in this hotel. Rooms are so noisy. This hotel is more like an apartment than a hotel. Lobby is nice so the building but the rooms are horrible. Bathrooms have stain all over, carpet is too dirty. I felt yukhh staying in this hotel.
