Good hotellPosted May 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotell is conveniently located close to Nanshan Rd which is a nice area by the westlake. The highway is really close and can be a bit noisy. Our room was tidy and we have nothing to complain about. There is indeed a glas wall between the room and bathroom, but a curtain makes is possible to get some privacy. Breakfast was included but as stated by others, it's a chinese breakfast, including white toast, cereal, fruit, coffee etc. but nothing fancy.

10-minute walk to the LakePosted May 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room was comfortable--especially the bed! The internet was super fast! The AC was not very good, and I'm not sure why the bathrooms have a glass wall where the shower is (but there was a curtain). It is very close to Pinghai Lu (a major street). I liked it very much!

No Room Air ConditioningPosted May 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
I didn't really read the description of the hotel that much because I assumed a 3.5 star hotel would be reasonably comfortable but I was wrong. There is no air conditioning in the rooms and the room was always around 28 C. When I went to the front desk to inquire why the a/c wasn't working there was no one who spoke english. They had to use a translation website to barely communicate. In the end they told me there was no a/c because the manager keeps it off all the time but maybe they could turn it on for me later. They never did. They brought a fan to the room which didn't help the heat much. The condition of the room was ok but the wall paper was peeling near the baseboards and it was discoloured. One problem encountered was getting a taxi to the hotel from the train station. If you are travelling to Hangzhou by train don't wait for a taxi because they won't take you to the hotel because the distance is relatively short for them and they want to make more money from a longer distance. In the end I had to pay 3 times the amount to convince someone to take us there (5-10 minute ride with traffic). I've stayed at budget hotels like Hanting Hotels that are a more comfortable stay than this and also cheaper.

The location is perfect, close to west lake and nearby got plenty of restaurants as well as shopping. The hotel room is clean and staffs are helpful. I would stay here again in my next trip.

Wonderful HotelPosted May 7, 2012 on Hotels.com
This hotel was very affordable and was wonderful. Central location. Close to West Lake, the train station, and the city. The hotel itself was gorgeous, spacious rooms, an enormous walk in shower. My wife and I have found the hotel we will continue to stay at on our trips to Hangzhou. We highly recommend it.

Hotel impression/ comment on their travel servicePosted Feb 25, 2012
Cons: poor travel desk, staffing and service
Hotel physical conditions, and location (proximity to Airport transfer bus stop and shops, eateries) are excellent. Reception staff ok by Chinese standards One very serious blemish (which i had fedback to the hotel management) is their "business center section" which is basically an extension of the reception counters. There is no chairs in front for guests or customers to sit on while discussing with the attendant. This business section is essentially handling Tour package arrangement (and photocopying documents). The travel agents connected with this hotel are relatively unprofessional. The packages are commonly available with similar pricing, but the actual travel agent signing on guests for packages do not practice standard CHinese practice of offering a contract detailing actual items to be covered (like places to visit, meals and transfer and transport arrangement). I won't recommend using the service.

St Rich HotelPosted Oct 25, 2011 on Hotels.com
The toilet takes up half the room and while it is well equipped, the light flickers on and off because the motion sensor detector is only located at the basin area, outside the shower compartment, which was quite an inconvenience because the light could go off while you are showering. Had trouble getting a TV signal on the first night but the room service lady was extremely helpful in setting it up. Counter staff looked terribly bored, unprofessional and unhelpful, but thankfully the hotel is located quite near the west lake, which is the center of attractions in the city so finding your way around would not be a problem.
