Unexpected little gem near city centrePosted May 29, 2014
Pros: As above
Location: Close to Old Town, Hoan Giem Lake, Museum of Women, and RC cathedral.
Four of us for four nights, first time in Vietnam. Delighted by welcome, facilities, rooms and superb breakfast. Most of all the friendly, helpful, charming staff - even fixed a broken shoe! Could not have been better!

A real gem of a hotel!Posted May 11, 2014
Pros: Exceedingly welcoming and efficient staff. Excellent, tastefully decorated room. First class location.
Cons: It's great as is!
Location: Within walking distance of Hoan Kiem Lake, several excellent museums, and many great places to eat (including good Bia Hoi!).
Art Hotel and the friendly staff who work there provided an excellent start to my vacation in Vietnam. What a gem of a hotel! The rooms are small but very tastefully decorated, extremely comfortable, have all facilities including a laptop (and a candy in the evening!), and are impeccably clean. $40 sure goes a lot further in Hanoi than Canada... The breakfast buffet was delicious and extensive, and I particularly appreciated the wide selection of fruit. The hotel is in an excellent location and I was able to walk to every museum and sight I was keen to see. The enthusiastic and well-trained staff really make this hotel stand out! They greet all guests by name, and made me feel very welcome. They are exceptionally efficient too - on both my returns from multi-day tours away from Hanoi, the luggage I'd left in storage at Art Hotel was waiting for me in my new room. The staff also handled booking my air ticket on to Hue very efficiently. It was a delight to stay at this hotel. I felt very lucky to have found it!

Excellent HotelPosted Jan 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
Great service and a fun location in the middle of Old Quarter - though it can be tricky to locate the first time arriving. Breakfast was a highlight and the internet connection was fast.

service EXCELLENTPosted Jan 10, 2014
Pros: Staff who worked during the day extremely efficient and breakfast delicious
Cons: Night service was less effective. When we requested additional quilts (bedcovers) they were unable to provide us. There should be extras
Location: plenty of things to do around that area. The hotel is well located
we stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights before going to Ha Long Bay. We were supposed to spend one night there. It turned out the company we hire didn't have space for us after we paid! The staff at Art hotel were soooo incredibly helpful. They helped us solving our problem and provided THE best service. They not only helped us making that company refund our money in full, but they also arranged for us a trip to actually make it to Halong Bay and back in one day. We got what we wanted and are very grateful to the hotel's staff. In addition, the rooms were clean and we didn't experience any problems with noise or anything of that nature. Breakfast excellent!

Pros: The service and helpfulness of the staff was exemplary.
Cons: The bathroom is very cramped. For example, it is physically impossible to sit on the toilet. There is no room between it and the shower.

Warm and accommodating staff!Posted Dec 2, 2013
Fresh off of a long flight from Seattle, we were greeted by three very friendly staff members. They offered us refreshments and our room was ready to go in a very short time. The room was great--just what we needed for a reasonable price. We only stayed for two nights and the hotel front desk still remembered our names and greeted us with a smile each day. Very close to the lake and short walking distance to the beer/food scene, but had no trouble with noise at night. Highly recommended!

Excellent HotelPosted Nov 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is the best hotel we stayed at during our trip to Vietnam. The rooms are a good size, clean and with plenty of hot water. It is in a great location in the old part of Hanoi - definitely where you want to be. The breakfasts were fantastic - great food and lots of it. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and they will help you book trips, taxis, anything you want really. Definitely recommended!

Best hotel service in 71 countries!Posted Nov 9, 2013
Pros: The people (as above) are better than those at the luxury Four Seasons chain; the rooms are Dutch-standard clean; the breakfast is simply great.
Cons: It can't be 'improved', but the room was small, not a big thing and one that was compensated for with a very modest room rate.
Location: Great for a visa run as embassies are a short walk; all of the museums (there are 9) are within walking distance as are shopping and food outlets.
Wow! Could this tiny place (20 rooms) teach the 'big boys' in hospitality a lot about hospitality. Truly, the staff here can't do enough for you but they are not over-bearing in doing it. They know their hotel, are sincere in wanting everything to be a perfect as humanly possible; they know their environment are gracious and knowledgeable in recommending what you could see and do. Overall, these are sincerely nice people, young, enthusiastic and so very refreshing.

Wonderful staffPosted Oct 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
Although the rooms are small for a family of 5, we all enjoyed our stay at the Art. The room was beautifully set out, extremely clean and from our balcony we got to see the crazy and wonderful life of Hanoi. The BEST part of our stay without a doubt was the staff. From the door man, the bag man all the way to the front desk staff, everyone was so nice and helpful, especially Chris and Sue who were above any other front counter staff in our whole holiday in Vietnam. They helped us organise things to do and see and made sure we weren't ripped off and were beyond fantastic with our kids. The Art is a hotel all other hotels need to strive to achieve. A+ for service!!!!!!
