We absolutely loved Golden Silk Boutique Hotel. It's located in such a great place near the old part of Ha Noi and the lake. The people were so welcoming and went out of their way to help all the time. The breakfast was soooo good. I highly recommend this place!

The staff were very helpful with translating when we had a taxi payment issue . They were always available to help with luggage etc especially when it was Tet for them .

The hotel seems very old and in need of repairs. Our room had no windows. The shower faucet came off the walll when I tried to turn it on. That being said, the staff was very nice and friendly.

It was a very convenient location near Kiem lake. The balcony overlooking the busy street was fun but didn't seem to loud when we had the door closed.

Good location but wish it was a cleaner experience. Came back to the room one night to find trash (food packaging etc) on the floor and lumps of hair on the bed. As it was late, did not call for rectifications and simply avoided the dirty areas. Trash was cleared the next day.

Our first check-in wasn't really good. Staff were not friendly, the room wasn't very nice... after 2 or 3 nights we went to Ha Long Bay... and after we booked another hotel... we received email from hotel and they informed us for upgrading the room. When we back we met Emily (hotel manager) Emily is cuch nice lady, she was helpful and very friendly. She did apologise to us and upgrading our room, and we stayed only one night more... because we already had booked another hotel. Before checked out we ask to buy a bath towels... Emily wasn't there and staff had to ask about... the answer was YES we can buy... and when we try to pay, the girls say, no need to pay... Emily said it be free for us... so we had nice benefit and souvenir from the hotel...thank you Emily! P.S. If all staff were like Emily the hotel be perfect without any complaints, and we will stay for 10 nights as we booked. Hope they be better in the future. Once again THANK YOU EMILY for every thing you did for us! ❤️

Great location in old town Hanoi. Walk out the door and leave the tranquil peace of the hotel for the chaos of busy Hanoi. We stayed 3 times over a 3 week holiday as we went out to other areas. The last time we upgraded to a street view room with balcony and loved that. Don't really like an inside room. Staff and service was excellent. Food was good.

Everyone is super nice. We’re on a busy road so it is a little unnerving to cross it, when we ordered a taxi the staff helped us cross the road to get to it.

We stayed for three nights in two rooms (2 nights - 1 night cruise Ha Long Bay - 1 night). Our first stay was fine - the hotel is a little dated but clean and tidy. The reception on the TV is bad but that didn’t really bother us. On our second stay, we arrived at reception at 5pm to be told there was a problem with one of our rooms and the hotel only had the presidential suite available for us. As we were three guests, we had booked a standard room and a luxury suite with twin beds. We were offered the Presidential suite and agreed to take a look at it - we went up and saw that two fold out beds had been placed into the room. As we were tired from our drive back from Ha Long Bay, we begrudgingly accepted. We enquires about a refund for one of our rooms, but we’re told that we were not getting a refund as the Presidential suite is bigger - totally missing the point of the fact that we had booked two rooms in order to have some privacy. The Presidential suite is certainly not suitable for presidents. The AC is very loud and unresponsive - the room was freezing cold regardless of the temperature set. The fold out beds were uncomfortable and of a much lower standard than the other hotel beds. The shower only had one setting - scalding hot. And in the main living area, there were some LED lights that could not be switched off, making it very difficult to get to sleep.

This hotel absolutely exceeded our expectations. The room was a little small by American standards, but more than made up for it with the gorgeous decor and ammenities.The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, helping us with tours, transportation and places to go that were within walking distance. The breakfast buffet had something for all tastes. If we go back to Hanoi again, we will definitely stay there.

We have rented a bike on our very first day. First day we parked our bike at the hotel with no issues however upon parking on the second night, the hotel bellboy was rude that telling us they dont provide parking for guest and telling us he doesn't know anyrhing and refer us to the receptionist, the receptionist told us that we cant parked our bike and need to park s ok somewhere else, we then ask to speak to the hotel manager and he just give us a name card. I am disappointed with the service that the hotel provided and wont recommend friend to stay un this hotel in future.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the Golden Silk, and we received an upgrade to the beautiful Presidential Suite, which is AMAZING ! When booking, the larger rooms are on the front, and the difference is price is well worth it.

The room was clean and the staff was really nice. Unfortunately I have an issue with a room without a window to the outside. The room did have a window but it was to the inside hallway providing no daylight whatsoever.

A good option for a 3-star hotel. The hotel room was nicely maintained. Its breakfast buffet was nice. Hotel is located strategically in the old quarters. Not much interactions from the hotel staffs though. Overall is good.

We arrived late at night after a long and uncomfortable bus trip from Sapa to be greeted at the bus by the doorman with a big smile and assistance our bags. Checking in at reception was a seamless experience with nothing too much trouble for them. We were welcomed and made feel like special and valued clients. Due to the late hour we decided to have room service the ordering was easy and the delivery very quick and again nothing was too much trouble. Ms Lee the manager certainly knows how to bring the best out in her staff and has the time to make each guest feel as if they are the only guest in the hotel. We emailed prior to arrival to organise an airport transfer which Ms Lee arranged so we knew that every detail was taken care of and we had no worries. Her management style and the way she runs the Golden Silk Hotel should be de-rigour for all top hotels across the world. We will certainly be coming back and will happy recommend the Golden Silk Hotel to any traveller wishing to have a truly special Hanoi experience.

The hotel is well located in the Old Quarter. Lots of shops and restaurants around. Staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little old and breakfast is only okay. Spa is extremely small, I chose not to use it. Overall an average experience. There are better places in Hanoi for the same price.

Golden silk hotel is a nice clean hotel in a very good location..small selection for breakfast but overall quite nice.. rooms are ok..very clean as is the hotel..cheap place to stay and overall an enjoyable place to stay..
