“Room was good, service was not, but super cheap!”
Hotel was decent, clean, large enough. Some rooms have a bathtub, others are just wet rooms. Hot water runs out very quickly. Very few of the hotel staff speak English (only the manager, and maybe one other person could speak). Buffet breakfast needs to be ordered by pointing at pictures on the menu, but often the staff don't show you where the menu is -- you have to figure out how to order after watching others order. When you step in the door, the manager pressures you into booking all of these tours which could be booked for much cheaper literally at any one of the many discount travel agents on the same street. Be wary of paying for things in american dollars with dong as doesn't give the rate that everyone on the street and all the vendors give you (at the time of writing, it is 1USD = 20,000 dong). His rate will generally benefit him. Otherwise it was a good stay.
“Happily to return.”
This is the third time I came back to this hotel for my Ha-Noi trip. You know why. Everything is exceptional with this hotel. I will come back to stay here again in December for my next trip.
“Terrific quaint and inexpensive hotel in the midst of old Hanoi.”
Hotel management and staff go out of their way to make visitors welcome. The small hotel is quaint, not opulent, but meets all basic needs. It is situated on a small side street in the old historic part of Hanoi. For foreign visitors it puts us directly into the heart of this amazingly vibrant and developing city. An easy walk to all major points of interest. The provided breakfast is convenient and served in a quaint dining room. Service overall is excellent; for anything you need, just ask hotel manager 'Tony' and it will be done for you! We would return to this hotel any time.
“I hope go back with more time to know new areas- and cities”
Oveall- people there was very efficient and very kinds
“Wonderful.”
Wonderful. I surely will stay at this hotel again when I am back in HN.
“Generous definition of gym”
Not particularly friendly staff, stingy breakfast, smelly room etc. made for a less than impressive stay. Also, the webpage stated that the hotel had a gym and a sauna; the previous defined as two rusty dumbbells and a decrepit old chair in the breakfast area, the latter defined as a darkroom and an old oven. Not impressed! Kudos on the inclusion of a computer in the room (though didn't actually work).
