“Charming 2 Hotel, Hanoi”
Overall, my wife and I would rate Charming 2 Hotel as '4' - 'pleasing'.
The room was very comfortable and well-maintained, and a daily supply of free fruit was most welcome - useful for sight-seeing snacks.
The staff were very friendly and willing to help where necessary (e.g. with taxi booking).
The only minor criticisms that spring to mind are (1) the traffic noise outside - but this does depend on the location of the room to some extent, and can be made less intrusive by programming the air-con to start at, say, 0400h. Of course, there is always bound to be traffic noise when a hotel is located in the heart of the Old Quarter, and this must be considered when booking: if it is likely to be a problem, then you should think seriously about staying in a quieter district of Hanoi, but you will miss out on seeing (and hearing the real Vietnam).
Also connected with traffic noise is the seemingly incessant use of the horn when overtaking - but this is a general Asian part of driving, and is not exclusive to Vietnam; and
(2) Although the buffet style breakfast was plentiful, I personally would have liked the food to be kept hotter, although the eggs would probably suffer by becoming leathery!
