“I would stay at the Daewoo again.”
The Daewoo is located in the diplomatic district of Hanoi overlooking the Ho Kiem (West Lake). My room was first class. I received free breakfast in the Cafe Pominade and dinner at the Pominade included a buffet and grill. Internet access was free as well.

It is a great hotel, just a bit far from the city center and other hotels. Hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. Great breakfast buffet, good value when added on to room.

I chose this hotel because it is close to my companies' new office in Hanoi (accross the street) and because it has fitness and swimming facilities which I very much appreciate during business trips. Especially the sauna/steam room area is great for relaxing after some gym activity, with hot and cold jacuzzis. Try it! The hotel is a little older alread and from what I am used around SE-Asia it could use a refurbishing although the rooms are basically good and (very important) clean. Next to that, the hotel provides free internet in your room, which is always a plus. Through Expedia I got the 2 nd night for about 50% off which lowered the price for the overall stay (3 nights) to a more suitable level than their standard rates. But then again, hotels in Hanoi are generally pricier than in other Asian cities. Overall the stay was good and I am actually staying here a 2nd time during my current business trip.
“Comfortable and relaxing business hotel with great restaurants!”
The hotel caters to business crowds (as do the restaurants). Service was great, internet free, spa and gym were good, even an in-door driving range. Rooms were large and clean and comfortable. Restaurants on property are fabulous and provide some varied cuisine, though room service looks a bit narrow in choice after a couple weeks (this is true most everywhere!). The one gripe was the pool/garden. No real bar service at the pool, and the pool itself was merely 1 meter deep, and it was difficult to swim laps, as it bends continuously. At places, the water is only 1/2 meter, not deep enough to swim. While the pool was disappointing, I wasn't in Hanoi for vacation, and it was close to my client sites, making it the choice for Hanoi for me. I've stayed twice now and will be there again next month.

“Daewoo Hanoi”
As you arrive in the hotel - the lush greens welcome you. The hotel is spread over several acres and very colonial and welcoming. The rooms are modern and clean. The cafe is very nice and the breakfast was great. Will be staying there more often
