“Great staff and staging hotel”

“A really friendly place to stat in Hanoi”

We were very lucky to spend 3 nights in the Hanoi Lucky Hotel. It's a very modest hotel, located on a small street (no cars or taxis can get through)in a really interesting part of the old town, with lots of fascinating shops nearby and easy access to some of the main tourist attractions. Our overwhelming impression was of how extremely friendly and helpful all the staff were at all times. They made us feel really welcome and at home. We won't forget them in a hurry and we'd certainly stay there again.

This is an international budget hotel in the old part of Hanoi The staff were excellent The room was okay and clean The bathroom needed a better shower The central staircase needs an uplift in decor There is no restaurant area, only the reception area, where breakfast is taken. Basis breakfast--juice, bread, eggs and tea was excellent but crowded if more than 4 people taking breakfast.

“Not very impressed”

hotel did not live up to it's star rating. Air conditioning did not work well. Beds were very hard. No elevator and hallways not air conditioned.

“Unsanitary room”

We stayed in a room on the top floor of this hotel. Shortly after check in, we spotted a rodent crawling down the curtain hanging in front of our window. Needless to say, we checked out of this hotel shortly afterward. At first the manager and the owner were not helpful in coming up with an acceptable solution, but they did in the end switch us to their partner hotel around the corner.

“Not Impressed”

The Hanoi Lucky Hotel is self rated as a three star hotel. However, the service is substandard. My room was basic and didn't remotely look like any of the pictures provided on Expedia. The bed and furtine were basic and the room smelt of musk. A suprise was awaiting in the bedroom cabinet with a packet of condoms with one being used. Not very impressed and a basic spring clean or santity check would of picked this up. The breakfast consisted of a basic menu of Bread, Banana's and Eggs. There was 4 items on the menu and they were all poor quality. Normally I would say the price says is all, but that kind of money elsewhere will get you much better. Expedia i would recommend you revisit this hotel to ensure that the quality is the same
