“Awesome & helpful staff, affordable, great location, clean...definitely would come back!!”

My flight to Hanoi was delayed for 10 hours and I did not expect that Mike's Hotel would be at the airport to pick us up (after such a delay) ... I was so happy & impressed when I got off the plane to find them waiting for us! When we arrived, we were greeted with a 'welcome' drink, a detailed map and helpful directions, & smiling faces. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff are SUPER nice & helpful!! On our way back, we had a 1 night lay over in Hanoi and we came back to Mike's. The people remembered us & were happy to see us. The location is awesome... right in the middle of everything... but yet still quiet when you want to sleep. I would tell my friends to stay here... it is affordable, clean, great location and the staff are the BEST!!! Love the ice coffee!!

“Really run down”

Yes, this hotel is cheap, but there's a reason! The paintwork is all flaking off, there was damp in the bathroom, the shower curtain was black and disgusting with mould. There were exposed electrical cables hanging out of the wall in the bathroom and a power socket hanging out of the wall. The beds were very uncomfortable and we were given a twin after booking a double. There was a hole in our front door and also one in the balcony door. The mini fridge had 2 cans of fizzy drink and that was it. We avoided breakfast as the kitchen left a lot to be desired and the menu was limited to say the least. The stair case was a death trap as it was poorly lit, steps were sporadic in their size and some of them broken. All in all it wasn't a pleasant experience staying there, but it is in a great location and the trip that arranged by the in house agent to Halong Bay was lovely. We wouldn't stay there again.
