“"Very accommodation staff and great location"”

I was welcomed and made to feel at home straight away by Huy, Hoa and the rest of the staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they really make you feel like they care about how you are enjoying the stay. They are generous with information about local locations and have access to a good range of excursions - I took a two day trip to Ha Long Bay and thought it was good value for money. (I must disagree with previous negative comments about pushiness and over-pricing). The hotel itself is within walking distance of most of the main things to see in the city and is located in the heart of the bustling, vibrant, chaotic Old Quarter - if you like to experience city life in S.E. Asia, this is one that really gets under your skin. Thanks Huy - I'll come back again.

““Location, service, comfort, affordable””

Positive: We stayed at the Royal Palace Hotel for 2 nights. We arrived very early in the morning, but a room was ready for us and we were given a complimentary breakfast which was a nice start in Hanoi after almost 24h in airplanes. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They arranged airport shuttles for us, exchanged money at a fair rate and would have organized tour around town or to Halong Bay, had we wanted to. Breakfast was not the highest quality and the breakfast room had the feel of a hostel room, but the choices for breakfast on the menu were very good. The location of the Royal Palace is excellent, as you can walk everywhere in the Old Town, but it is not in the touristy section of town, but in a street that has a very residential feel. Negative: The shower basin was leaking - after one person took a shower the bathroom floor was completely wet. Overall it was agreat experience and we would book this hotel again!

I would like to thank and commend the lovely Royal Palace Hotel at Hoan Kiem in Hanoi, Vietnam. The people were so nice and helpful who made you feel most welcome, they went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The room was beautifully decorated with a large bathroom . The breakfast was nice with special Vietnamese coffee. I highly recommend Royal Palace Hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable, luxurious hotel without the pretense.

“A lovely hotel with excellent services”

The Royal Palace Hotel was overall an excellent hotel. Room service and housekeeping service are excellent, we could not fault them. We felt so pampered by the little touches. Check-in and check-out were quick and all the staff we met were very friendly. The complimentary bottled water was very welcome. The continental breakfast exceeded our expectations and we were amazed by the choice and quality of the food served in the hotel. We could store our luggage when visiting Hoi An, Halong Bay and Sapa. Halong Bay and Sapa trip were arranged by the hotel as well, at very competitive prices. It is simply the best deal in Hanoi and was worth every penny to this frugal couple. I'm not sure what else I can say about this hotel, congratulations must go to all the staff who made our stay here so memorable.

“Great service, well located.”

After reading other reviews on this site. I have nothing but good things to say. The room was comfy very clean ,towels changed daily . Housekeeping was completed in a very timely manner as the room was generally cleaned while we were enjoying the complimentary breakfast at hotel’s lobby. We found the accommodations to be most comfortable, very clean and well maintained .The handsome gentlemen of the staff greeted us each day with warm smiles and a genuine willingness to make our trip as pleasant as possible. Thank you Hoa!!! Furthermore, Anthony the General Manager was always on hand to make us feel extra special. They booked our train tickets to Danang and let us leave our bags there whilst at Halong Bay (Galaxy junk was brilliant btw). Oh yeah, and it is close to everything, and I mean walking distance, ask the reception staff for recommendations. Would stay here again as the room rates are excellent for what you get & the hotel is in a great location on a quiet street but minutes away from Hoan kiem lake.

“"Best value hotel so far on our trip"”

We arrived at this hotel having had a bit of an ordeal with the taxi driver between the airport and the hotel. Basically he tried to take us to a wrong hotel so that he could get a commission but it obviously had absolutely nothing to do with the Hanoi Royal Palace. In fact when we arrived at the correct hotel, Mr. Huy (the manager) apologised profusely for the dodgy taxi drivers and made sure we were fine. We were and he welcomed us with open arms, offering us complimentary drinks and food. We were quickly shown to our rooms and were pleasantly surprised to find a pristinely clean room with good air conditioning and possibly the best shower i have ever had! From Hanoi, we took a trip to Ha Long Bay which was booked for us by the hotel. Mr. Huy showed us all the options, telling us truthfully the pluses and minuses of each. When the trip was cancelled due to bad weather, while other hotel guests booking their trips with outside companies lost their money, Mr. Huy was adamant that we would not pay until the day of travel and thus we didn't lose our money. On our last day in the Hanoi Royal Palace, Mr. Huy gave us a free upgrade for our rooms so we had even larger rooms one with window city view. Mr. Huy and all the Hanoi Royal Palace staff were amongst the kindest, friendliest and helpful people we met in Vietnam and if you are looking for a superbly run, immaculate and great value for money hotel the Hanoi Royal Palace is the place for you!

“"The Best Value Hotel in Old Quarter"”

We booked for a night & stayed for a week. The staff are very helpful & friendly. Ms Hoa organised an excellent trip to Halong Bay at a very reasonable price. I would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking good value & excellent information on Hanoi.

We had booked our superior room online via expedia .The beds are something to dream about- and you literally start dreaming nice things when you lay down on those beds and pillows - very very comfortable! The location was a short walking distance from all the major sights. The breakfast included cheese, bread, eggs, sausage ,strong coffee, tea, yogurt and fruit. The staff was very accommodating and would prepare an omelete or fried eggs upon request. The owners were excellent. They gave you lots of ideas of what to do and where to go, without being intrusive. Great hotel. I plan on going again in November and I'll definately stay here again!!
