Gem in the heart of the old town

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Located in a small street off the main road. During the day the street has vendors selling fruits, which was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Their service would put to shame bigger hotels. Rooms were nicely done up and clean with the usual amenities including hair drier for the ladies. Windows are double glazed so no problem with noise from outside.

Exceptional staff and great location

We stayed here for four nights (not consecutively) and our is the best experience of a hotel we've had. The staff lena, emily, amy and kathy will do anything to make your stay on hanoi perfect. We were on our honeymoon and the girls decorated or room with Rose petals and balloons and even brought us wine and cake. The rooms are big and comfortable, although the bed are quite firm but I like that. Would definitely recommend.

So Serene at Hanoi Serene

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: Location. Clean and modern. Airconditioner keeps going when you are not in your room so lovely chilled room when you return from a hot day exploring.
Cons: Maybe an extra pillow, but as mentioned, I'm sure if we asked they would have provided.
Location: Right in the heart of the tourist streets. Easy walking distance to shops and good restaurants.
Amazing hotel in the heart of the market in the mornings, and in a good way. Great location within walking distance to all the main streets and lake. The staff were excellent and very welcoming. Our included breakfast was tasty. The bed was a little on the hard side, however most beds in Vietnam seem to be. Also could have done with an additional pillow, which I'm sure they would have supplied had we asked. Super quiet inside. Very pleasing hotel and would be our first choice if we return.

Stay here - value for $$, friendly, professional

Pros: GREAT Staff,AC,Cable TV. Was breifed on arr with the local map + places of interest and the saftey security precausions = Professional+personal touch.
Cons: The toilet could have flushed a little better but it wasn't at all a problem.Only writing this because I can't think of anything else.Otherwiseperfect
Location: Hart of OQ. Lots of shoping close by but I personally like to shop where the locals go.
I really liked my stay here. I was staying by myself for two nights before moving to another hotel for a training conference. This hotel is in a little street, no cars, and it turns into a local fruit and veg market during. You can eat anywhere on the street as long as there are lots of other customers. Just don't stop eating in fact because the locals prize the freshness of everything. My highlights were going to the fabric (Cho Hom) market the first day (you need to go early in your stay if you want anything made for you). + I did a cooking course at the Cherry Restaurant where it was only me and my friend and they take you to a really local market that not only has fresh meats, seafood and veg, but also crockery and utensils. Try Bun Bo (crunchy noodle soupy goodness) on the same block as Hotel Serene on Hang Dieu, try crab rolls then a massage on Ly Quoc Sur, try a hair wash and blow dry on Hang Bai, and get you nails done on the corner of the walking street neat Hang Trong st. Find cheap shops around Tran Quoc Toan.

THE PLACE TO STAY IN OLD QUARTER!

Posted May 21, 2014
Pros: Staff, rooms, location
Cons: Cannot fault anything
Location: Old Quarter - must EAT as much as you can and go to a bia hoi!
The hotel staff, the service, the breakfast, the room, the location - cannot fault anything! If you're looking for a place to stay in the old quarter - look no further. The staff are very attentive and genuinely care about how you are doing. My girlfriend had a broken foot and every morning they would ask how she is doing. When we left, they emailed us and asked how she is doing and have since continued with follow-up emails to check up on her condition. The rooms are clean and are great value for money! Will definitely stay here next time I am in Hanoi!

Amazing staff, who couldn't do enough for you!

Posted May 19, 2014
Pros: The staff, it was quite and clean
Cons: A Pool........but there is nowhere they could put one, it's a very narrow building
Location: Its in the centre of the historic town, so close to shops, restaurants and the lake. There is plenty of restaurants to choose from
Our taxi dropped us off at the end of a lane and we thought OMG what have we booked but once we reached the hotel........it was amazing. It was very simple only 12 rooms but it was clean and it was the special touches they did with everything. In the room was a bottle of wine and fruit waiting and they had made a swan on the bed with balloons. Breakfast was simple but you could order as much as you wanted from the menu and all they wanted to do was feed you more!!!! If your looking for something simple and not too expensive its worth giving it a go.

Nice hotel in the old quarter

Posted May 12, 2014
Pros: Staff
Location: Old quarter
We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and then another 1 night on our return from Halong Bay. The stand out for this hotel is the staff. They are so helpful and friendly you could not ask for more. The room, although on the small side, was comfortable. Good air conditioning and television. There is complimentary wine, fruit and water. Its location in the old quarter means that restaurants, shops and the lake area are all in walking distance.

Great hotel great location

BOOK THIS HOTEL don't bother looking elsewhere. great hotel and location, very close to the action, extremely friendly staff, rooms are great even had a computer in it for internet access if you don't have your own device to utilise the also free wifi. only warning would be to note the hotel is located on a alley so only accessible by scooter or foot rather than taxi to the door, however this is not an issue as it s only 20-30meters from the road - more of a tip for finding it than anything. Hotel is small (2 rooms per floor) however rooms are a very generous size and personally i prefer this to a big 100+ room hotel.
