“Great Budget Hotel”

Friendly and helpful staff, great central location, that's all you need. Negatives? Not really at this price but be aware the hotel has no elevator and some rooms may not have a window to the outside although there is one in the bathroom.

I was nervous about booking a non-chain, foreign hotel through a US site, but was pleasantly surprised by the ease and efficiency at check in and throughout our stay. The staff recognized us when we arrived, took our passports and handed us the keys to our room. Nothing to sign, nothing to pay for, it was all handled ahead of time through our expedia booking. A hotel car to pick us up at the airport was arrange at the time of booking. Much easier and cheaper than trying to deal with the touts and scams at the airport. Rooms were simple and clean with super hot water, free local calls and a minibar. We never spent much time in the rooms aside from sleeping and the room had everything we needed. The hotel staff was friendly and courteous, offered to help us book tours if we needed, but was never pushy. Breakfast was prepared fresh when we came downstairs in the mornings and was simple and tasty. Both Western and Vietnamese options were on offer. Strong and tasty Vietnamese coffee was a wonderful start to the day along with fresh squeezed juice. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Hanoi's old quarter. It's in the middle of everything, a short walk to the lake and there is more shopping in the area than you can shake a stick at. Our room was at the back of the hotel and there was no noise to bother us at nights. Would definitely recommend for families and the backpacker type that wasn't a private room without the noise or shared amenities.

“Nice hotel, Good Location”

For the price do not expect the Ritz or even a Days Inn. The hotel is clean, rooms are spacious and staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast was included but only 3 choices availalble...but the cook/waitress made it for me regardless of what time I came down to eat. Mixed group of people staying at the hotel, backpackers, families and individuals. Easy to walk around the Old Quarter, Hanoi Opera House, Water puppet theater and Hoem Kiem Lake are all within walking distance. Just a note the pictures on Expedia must be old because the lobby does not look as pictured.

The room was large, quiet and clean. The hotel was close to downtown. All the staff was nice, helpful, and very attentive to all our questions.

“Most Welcoming Staff In Any Hotel We Have Stayed At”

We originally booked for 2 nights at Holiday Gold hotel. This hotel made us feel very welcome. The room was ok, had a balcony (which we requested) the beds were a little hard and we knew in advance there was no lift, but the bell boys carried our luggage up and down so no problem. There was a bit of noise from the stairwell, and the beds were a little hard but all else was fine. However, it was the staff at the hotel that got 10 out of 10. We wanted to stay another two nights but they were full, but they own another 4 hotels in Hanoi so the boy took me on the back of his motorbike to look at their Holiday Diamond Hotel. Well this hotel is fabulous, more modern, had lifts, the beds were comfy, there were computers, dvd player and widescreen tvs in the room, the staff here were so friendly and helpful, with no pressure re tours etc. If we come back to Hanoi we will definitely be booking in here. Its a 3 star property with 5 star service.

Great location, great services, friendly staff, great room and price. No elevator. four stories. Only 12 rooms in all. Free breakfast. Free wifi. informal meeting room. No Air Condition in reception areas and common areas. AC in rooms though, good. Good for you money. Good tour service assistance.

This is a great little hotel that you won't be disappointed with. Super friendly staff and somewhere you will feel at home in. Highly recommended.

Came into Hanoi at 6 am, they actually had my room ready by 7:30 which I didn't expect. Good location, easy to book tours through them, no problems. I honestly didn't think much of Hanoi, but this hotel was very good value.
