Superb friendly little place, ideally located.Posted Jul 3, 2014
Great stay at the Dong Thanh. Staff went out of their way to provide information and great courtesy like looking after our bags for us well after our initial 2nt stay. Value for money is excellent , did not try the food as very close to wonderful street food.

A safe place with excellent service !Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: the room & staff
Cons: The hotel didn't state they offer tour service, so I had booked online with a higher price. They should state specifically on their websites for guest
A good value budget hotel right in the old quarter Hanoi. Comfy beds with fast wifi & good breakfast. In comparison with other hotels I stayed throughout Vietnam, this hotel is not really special but just their service. The staff service stands out from others and should be rated as five star one. When I checked -in , the customer service Ivy , greeted us with her smile , she then offered free drinks and gave us a map to recommend some travel tips in Hanoi. Even we already had our own itinerary and already booked online our Ha Long Bay trips , she still seems to be very kind assisting with our requests.

The hotel staff were friendly, but the bathroom was not kept right. Hot water is also an issue and ran out.

Quality hotel in HanoiPosted Oct 11, 2013
Pros: Location. Kind staff.
Cons: More options in the breakfast buffet.
Location: Check out the water puppet show at Thang Long Water Puppet Theater - hilarious. Hoan Kiem Lake is also quite nice.
This hotel is comparatively small - eight stories and a small dining area on the first floor. The location is conveniently close to some of the major city sites - Hoan Kiem Lake. The room was spacious and reasonably clean. The staff was courteous and professional - check-in and check out were smooth and they booked transport to the airport upon check out. The breakfast buffet is limited, but this is due more to limitation in space than anything else - it was filling enough. Very good value for the money. All in all, a good base from which to explore Hanoi.

A comfortable stay in Dong Thanh hotel, HanoiPosted Oct 7, 2013
Pros: The staff is very helpful, accommodating and friendly.
Location: The location of the hotel is in the quiet part of the Old Quarters. Not crowded.
It was a comfortable stay. The hotel staff has been helpful in telling us what tours to take and restaurant to go to. We will definitely come back and stay there again. Likewise, recommend the hotel to our relatives and friends.

Good hotel in a central locationPosted Apr 1, 2013
Pros: Helpful staff
Cons: Shower which lacked pressure and volume.
Location: Well located in the old quarter
Hotel was clean and the staff very helpful. The shower in our room was a bit poor but overall would stay here again. Central location was a plus.
