Great hotel. Very clean. Recommend club level. Only downside is that it is away from the city centre.

“Good hotel”

Excellent hotel, very well run. Very good food, including breakfast, smooth service. Location a bit away from the center, but taxis are waiting, and the ride takes 10-15 minutes. The upside is - easier access to the airport, which considering the mad traffic can be important.

“Review of Sofitel hotel - Hanoi”

Excellent hotel in a good location. The room I was in offered the overall view of the 2 lakes. This hotel is recommended.

We were extremely pleased with our 6 night stay at Sofitel Plaza Hanoi. While it is a around 2km from the 'Old Quarter', it is a relatively easy walk if you are not in a hurry otherwise just catch a taxi for around US$2

I was at Sofitel Hanoi for 3 nights. Excellent hotel, great swimming pool. Staff efficient, helpful and very kind. I would definitely go back again.

“Nice hotel”

Stayed 3 nights at the Sofitel Hanoi Plaza. Overall, it was a nice experience. The room was a very good size and the view overlooking the lake was beautiful. The location is good although it is a cab ribe to get to the old part of town. You can walk to Ho Chi Mihn museum in about 15 minutes. Breakfast buffet was really good and cheap for what you got. My one little complaint was that the some of the staff's english was not very good so we often had to explain things to two or three people before someone knew what we wanted. But overall, it was nice and would recommend.

“Great business hotel and pleasant experience.”

The hotel is well maintained (although they have been having some problems with their sewer systems and are struggling to get it sorted. The staff are knowledgeable and eager to please, and the hotel rooms are nice with reasonable views. The drawback to the hotel is the location, as relevant to eating places or proximity to any kind of shopping or tourist place. Otherwise it is a great hotel and reasonable value.

“Great but can do better”

We very much liked the Sofitel Plaza Hanoi although we found it quite a long way from most attractions, and the area is not ideal. We had breakfast in the hotel on only one occasion - very expensive, and nothing outstanding. We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere in the Ming Palace restaurant - great quality and good value for money. We didn't dine in the Brasserie Westlake except for breakfast as the buffet dinner was far too expensive for Vietnam. The gym was a bit disappointing with only one cross-trainer, one bike and one treadmill; also you had to walk through the weight room and around the pool to get to the cardio room (very odd layout). We also stayed in two other hotels in Hanoi; the Movenpick and Conifer Boutique. For location and price I would rank them higher than Sofitel Plaza Hanoi.
