“amazing rooms , super - fantastic services , perfect location , excellent package tour , great value”

We couldn't rate this great little hotel more highly, with friendly and helpful staff that greeted us each day with huge smiles and a great location in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. After a long journey to Vietnam we were smoothly transported to the hotel via their air conditioned airport shuttle service (well worth the $18USD), then met at the hotel with chilled face towels, refreshing mango smoothies and extremely helpful and informative staff. From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left they were so accommodating. They recommended restaurants which were always right on, they booked our city tour, Halong Bay trip,sapa trip booked our flights to hue and nha trang , arranged hotels in Hoi An, Hue and nha trang , along with drivers and hotel pick-up, then followed up with a phone call to us in Hue , hoi an , nha trang city hotels to make sure everything was OK. These are awesome people and very genuine. The rooms are beautifully decorated. We stayed in a deluxe room for the first 3 nights and then moved to a suite after our Halong Bay . Free computer in the room. trip which was larger, both were good choices , perfect and great value .This was the first hotel we stayed in in Vietnam and after a month of traveling this country, it still remains the best hotel experience we have had. I highly recommend it as a base from which to start your Vietnam adventure .

Everything about the Splended Star was exceptional , lovely !!! The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms were well laid out , Comfy beds, clean, all basic amenities, even computer in the room (free ) is great. The breakfast at the hotel was amazing , Not a buffet style but the quality beats everything is great . The staff were very friendly and went out of the way to ensure a comfortable stay. We had the hotel staff book our tour itinerary to Halong Bay and Sapa and we were not disapointed. They gave us a great deal and every thing about our tours was exceptional and great value for money . The location was in the heart of the Old Quarter with plenty of restaurants, shops, internet cafes close by. The staff went out of their way on several occassions for us. We arrived from Sapa at 4:30am, they opened the hotel, offered us coffee and cleaned a room for us so we could shower and have a nap. They escorted us to the train station on several occassions, always offered us complimentary coffee and tea and always had smiles on their faces. i would definitly stay with them again if back in Hanoi.

We had a great experience at the Splendid Star Hotel, the staff on the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful, greeting us with tea and fruit, even booking the next leg of our accommodation and travel for us, doing all the ground work, finding the cheapest deals and then passing them onto us - for Halong Bay, Sapa and travel to Hoi An ( package tour very excellent , good value ) . the rooms were new and cute , air-condition is good and the bathroom is modern and clean , spacious , all is new. We consider it is very value for money. Free Wifi and computer with internet in room. The water is strong and hot. Breakfast is included and great . We are so happy we choose this hotel for our stay in Hanoi. Highly recommend!!

“worst hotel with staff having a bad attitude”

to everyone out there ....look else where unless you want a tiny room that you continue to bump into everything and everyone , a bathroom that smells and is old and walls that need a new paint job . the rooms are dark , depressing and has a small window that needs a good cleaning unless it's always dark outside even in the morning . the only thing positive about this hotel is that there are computers in the room to use free of charge for you to look for another hotel . i understand why the mops are black because when the maids clean there just putting more dirt on top of dirt . the attitude of the people who work in the hotel at first are very nice but once you do not book there over priced tours they do not talk to you anymore . actually they ignore you like your not staying with them . do not book any tours with them . most hotels in hanoi charge a bit more then the agencies around town but this hotel charges more then twice the amount . to the staff : clean your rooms and the bathroom and change your bad attitude . i would not recommend this hotel to nobody .
