Nice hotel.Loved the area it was in.

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: The location, the staff, the breakfast and they made a lovely cappuccino in their little cafe.
Cons: Not much, maybe shorten renovation hours for guest comfort. Beds extreemly hard need more comfortable beds and softer pillows.
Location: The location was great.I have been to Vietnam 5 times mostly staying near the market. The Tirant Hotel is near the lake, with many restaurants nearby.
My daughter and I stayed at the Tirant hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is lovely.I thought the hotel was in a good position, close to the main Street and to the lake. The down side was, three floors above us they were building renovations so there was incessant noise from early morning till evening. You could not rest quietly in your room for an hour or two between shopping as the noise was shocking. Many guests complained about the noise. The hotel has a pool on the top floor which we didn't use,too many stairs to get there, too noisy with the renovations. We went to have a look,it was small but nice. I would stay there again once the renovations were complete.

Great location with a roof terrace

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: As above - what not to like when its such a cheap room
Location: The lake, and the street life of Hanoi - perfect
we really like the hotel. The staff were delightful and the location was perfect. The roof terrace was a great place to relax after a busy day and to escape the crowded city. Rooms were clean and the air conditioning was for once perfectly quiet !! that is an achievement. Highly recommend this hotel to stay in when visiting Hanoi

Once the renovations are finished this hotel will be hard to beat.We were disappointed not to have access to the pool and rooftop bar, but the staff were so lovely and helpful, the location very central, but quiet so it didn't spoil our stay.

Good location in Old Quarter

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Good location, hospitality
Cons: Nothing
The Tirant is in an ideal location for exploring the Hanoi Old Quarter and walking streets. It only took a short stay to understand why travellers rate this hotel highly. The staff are helpful and service is excellent with great hospitality. Our rooms were a little tired but quaint and comfortable. They were renovating when we stayed and management went out of their way to compensate and make guests welcome which meant the small amount of noise was not a problem. Our child was sick and they allowed an early check in, booked a doctor and gave us helpful tips on where to go in Hanoi. We enjoyed our stay with family of 4.

Bad timing

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Unfortunately for us the hotel was under renovation during our stay. Had we been given more than one day notice of renovation we might have changed hotels as the pool was closed (main reason we chose this hotel was location and pool for cooling off hot kids). Our suite on the 7th floor was 3 floors below the jack hammer which made being in the room unbearable and added to our irritation. Had the renovation not been going on I am sure we would have had a very pleasurable experience!

Overall good hotel, friendly staff. Beds are extremely hard though and the room had no window. Breakfast was tasty.

Excellent location in old quarter

Nothing was too much for this hotel. What surprised us was the attention to detail and the breaky buffet was superb with lots of variety. The manager made sure to visit every table, enquiring of our experience with the hotel. Small enough to be personal but with all the extras you would expect of this caliber hotel.
