Not bad

Posted May 21, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: Accessibility. It's hard for a new visitor to know what is happening at the location.
Location: Westgate Mall is right nearby.
The facility is good. Power supply is not reliable, but it's a location issue (Harare), not management issue.

The public power supply in HARARE is still deteriorating. The Lodge do have a generator, which is then put to use every evening, if theres is no public supply. The very fast internet has been put on solar energy, so it is non stop.

Good hotel, gracious hosts, away from town.

Posted Dec 29, 2014 on Hotels
The hotel was very nice and had some lovely looking rooms although ours wasn't the best. Breakfast was okay and we had full use of the kitchen and fridge etc. so preparing our own meals was easy (plus they do the washing up which was great for me because I hate that chore!) The hotel is far from town ($15-20 in a cab one way) although walking 7-10 minutes to the large shopping mall and getting a local bus for $0.50 was easy (including getting it back from town). Just be prepared to have someone sit on your lap as they pack the people onto the bus - this only adds to the fun though!

Thanx for the comment. Good you liked the place. We do not mind midgets, but there are also larger toilets and bathrooms for larger sizes.

The Gateway to Mana Pools, Kariba and Zambia

Visited Simba Harare due to business in North West Zimbabwe. The property have been upgraded now with fast wifi in all rooms and DSTV in the rooms in the Main House. The service also got a hike upwards with new employees dedicated to maintaining a good standard. For a professional not better base could have been wished for.

They have never cleaned my room once. There was a dirty towl left in the bathroom when I first came there - no soap, no towl and no toiletpaper were in the room. The bedding was old and some places even "thorn". They have never cleaned my room once and never made my bed .

We are sorry to disagree with this presentation from 2013. The maids have standing instructions to change linned daily, and soap towels and toilet paper are provided in all and every room.

Great place for professionals

Simba Harare is a larger B n B, located in WESTGATE. Of interest for professinals, they got taxis attached charging lower rates, thus easing a business visit to Harare. High speed internet, nice rooms, great pool, friendly staff - the environment you need to get the results you need in HARARE.
