11th floor supposed to be a non smoking floor and our room 1116 was smell of smoke and we discovered that there were ashes that the chamber maid didn't clear away, it could have been done better. Breakfast offering was average. However they have a mall next door, offering better food and a park across the road, was lovely covered with snow now (20-26 Dec). We had fun at the park.

Beautiful hotel, staff were very helpful and friendly. Only issue was that it was unseasonably warm while we were there and the air conditioning had been turned off for the season, room got very warm.

A welcoming place to stay
The staff made our stay extra special. From all the ladies at the front desk, to the concierge staff (especially Giulio), they went the extra mile to ensure our visit to Harbin included a comfortable place to stay. The pillow menu, breakfast buffet and pool were out favorites. On the downside, the rooms are looking a bit worn, and the breakfast buffet could stay open at least til 10:30 (rather than 10). It would be nice to have a lane in the pool for non-lap swimmers as well.

Great Harbin hotel!
Great place to stay! This is not near the "downtown" area, but still has a lot to offer within walking distance. Staff was extremely helpful!

Cheating - paid best view but got worst view room
Third time I stayed in this hotel and also third time I booked for golf view but they claimed all golf View room sold out. Cheating! Charged me for best view but gave me worst view room. I fought for the golf room with no luck!!

No air conditioning at all when room was hot!
I stayed in this hotel in March, first week of May and also this time May 10, for all three times, the biggest challenge was no air conditioning in the room! Receptionist admitted that the hotel has yet turned on the air conditioning facility in the rooms so that’s why it was always warm and hot! I had to borrow a fan to be able to sleep a bit even though I did not turn on “cooling” system in main switch!

Amazing luxurious hotel next to shooping mall
As expected for a five star hotel: luxury, clean and great 24/7 service. Room had nice heating and air humidifier for comfort. The pool and gym were etremely clean and spacious. It is next to a massive shopping centre and lots of cafes. We had to leave very early for our flight (4am) so the extremely helpful staff had organized airport transport for us. When we first arrived the bedding had some dirt on it, but the cleaning staff immediately swapped it for us when informed. Overall 10 out of 10 experience.

Great staff, the service personnel were all very helpful especially the people at the desk right after the hotel entrance. Good location, too, with several restaurants nearby and a mall with more restaurants and a large supermarket.

Excellent hotel which I have remained loyal to...
...as I travel to China and in particular Harbin regularly for work and always stay at the Sofitel. The hotel is we'll located, although it is China and cities are huge so you are always good for some things but perhaps a bit of a drive from others. The service is always superb with staff always very welcoming (which is great after 24 hours of travelling from the UK) and accommodating of your individual needs. If your Chinese is limited, most, if not all of the staff are fluent in English and the concierge is always knowledgable and able to help with bookings etc.). I needed to find rooms at the last moment for colleagues whilst in country and despite it being very obviously busy (because of the ice festival), they managed to find me some nice rooms, making me feel like my loyalty was being rewarded. The rooms and general areas are well maintained and the lounge is very comfortable, if usually rather quiet when I am there (which I prefer). The only thing I cannot comment on are the restaurants as Chinese hospitality is such that I am always taken out for food. To sum it up; One of my favourite hotels, fair price and I plan to always book to stay there when in Harbin as I see no reason to look elsewhere.

Good location, service can be improved
Hotel was nice and modern. The reception desk didn't explain how to use elevator and what amenities in the hotel room was free for us to use. Not sure if they didn't want to speak English. The bed was comfortable and the heater was working well. The location of the hotel was very convenient. The bathroom floor wasn't cleaned the day after. But the bed was made and the room was tidied up.

Accessible location but terrible traffic all around which makes going to the tourist spots like Sun Island and Central Street a harried experience. The hotel facilities and amenities are as expected of a 5-star hotel. However, housekeeping did not replenish the complementary items at the mini bar regularly, and left used glasses unwashed. Also, our room was very cold even though the heater was set at maximum; we were given a radiator which made the temperature around the room uneven.

We were there for the ice festival and upon returning from our cold day outside, we found our room was freezing. The window had been left open all day by the house keeping staff and it was so cold we could see our breath. We called the front desk and they immediately moved us into an empty room. They quickly and effectively fixed the problem and made us feel comfortable again. Great customer service.

Location wise, Sofitel Wanda was a convenient choice for us as there's a shopping mall with a supermarket adjacent to the property. However, it was quite remote from the city center... took us 15-20 mins to get to the city with traffic (around RMB20 by taxi). Staff was friendly and very helpful. Although some cannot speak English well, they will get someone who can to serve you. Breakfast in the main area was just ok, not impressive but not bad either. We stayed in the Club and the lounge was quiet and peaceful with friendly staff. Breakfast choices in the lounge were limited though. If you don't mind the noise from the crowd, 2/F breakfast area is better. What bothered us the most was the housekeeping service. Although they visited our room everyday, what they did was apparently just replenishing towels and drinking water. We stayed for 6 nights and the shower room was never cleaned up. All the soap stain remained on the glass. Bed sheets had never been changed. There's a drink stain and it was there all the way. We doubted whether we got any fresh sheets when we first arrived. Big disappointment here.

Hotel itself is old, could use a bit renovation. Staff at concierge were nice and helpful. They gave us suggestions for places to see and found a taxi to drive us around so we can see more things in short amount of time. Hotel internet was very slow but we could access gmail which was a nice surprise.

Sofitel me it's not true
after four weeks in the prairie of China, Inner Mongolia, I could not wait for my Harbin assignment. I read many reviews (be careful) that discussed the cigar lounge at the hotel along with the shop to purchase said cigars. I am a cigar lover so I booked the hotel. Sadly when I arrived after the flight and taxi experience from Harbin Airport the clerk informed me that there was no cigar shop. Fear not as I bemoaned my state, the clerk called in the manager. Maggie to the rescue. She walked me some 300 yards to the Wanda Plaza shopping center and a first rate cigar shop! Of course I enjoyed one in their KuBar lounge later in the evening. First rate service from all personnel. Book it.

Great for a weekend stay in Harbin
I traveled with a group of 6 to Harbin for a weekend trip to the Ice and snow festivals. The concierge did an excellent job of hooking us up with a van for the weekend at a discounted cost. The rooms were comfortable with all of the rigth amenities. Since we had three rooms between the 6 of us, we noticed that not all of the rooms were designed the same (one of our rooms was lacking a shower and only had a bathtub shower that seemed to leak on the floor), but the other two rooms had showers and bathtubs. We also ate breakfast at the hotel each morning. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet (although the service for beverages was lacking), and while it said breakfast costs was not included, we were not charged at checkout for either meal. We also enjoyed drinks at the hotel bar one evening and thought that the service was fantastic.

The best part about our stay was the friendly staff - especially at the concierge desk. The were very helpful in helping us plan our short stay. However, both rooms we had smelt badly of cigarette smoke but in moderately good condition. The hotel was full and were not prepared for the breakfast rush. The buffet was not re-stocked, they ran out of cutlery and the food was cold. This hotel was well below Sofitel standard.

we stayed in 3 different Wanda in 3 cities this trip, though hotels all look great, and some staff are extremely helpful, all the Wanda hotels we stayed share the same policy in switching off individual room temperature control. And most of rooms (for safety reason) do not have windows wide enough for ventilation. Almost every night in Wanda turned into a sleepless night due to winter quilt (already warm spring night) and no adjustable aircon. Sigh.

Outstanding Service
The staff at this hotel is truly world class 5 star. They went out of their way to make my stay a very comfortable and pleasant experience. The concierge and bell captain had to help me transfer some baggage, but were glad to do so, and it went off smoothly. My only request would be to add a shaving razor to the in-room toiletry service. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

I was upgraded to a Club room but the room was no more than good enough. I would have expected music and/or DVD player if I'm paying that much. Only used the club lounge (not bar or restaurants) which was also only adequate. However, the Spanish girl that checked me in and took care of me was a gem, really excellent customer service. Wasted in Harbin.

Sofitel Wanda Harbin
Hotel is less than what we expect for a SOFITEL. Got non smoking room which smell after cigarette, relocated after complaining. Hotel is ok for the price we're paying. Good: Next to big shopping mall which is handy for food and souvenir. Bad: Ask concierge for taxi to get to the airport whose driver tried to overcharge. Shall negotiate before we enter the taxi.

The best hotel in Harbin
I have been to Harbin several times and stayed at different hotels. There are only two true 5-star hotels in Harbin, Sofitel and Shangri-La. Between the two, Sofitel is newer and conveniently located next to a big and nice shopping mall where you can find McDonald's and KFC. It is not located close to any major tourist attractions but you can take a taxi to the central street for around US$2.

Quite area in the night, but we can access to central street by public bus #103 (It takes 10 min on foot for the nearest bus stop for #103). If you go to airport by taxi in the morning on weekday, I recommend you to have some spare time, because of trafic jam.

1001号室に2泊したが、バスタブへの出入りが非常に危険。ガラス戸のレールが高く、それを跨がなければ入浴できない。浴槽の中で滑る可能性もあり、何度か足を打撲した。

Проживал в этом отеле двое суток. В целом неплохо. Персонал владеет английским. Все мои просьбы и пожелания были выполнены. Оперативная работы службы доставки еды в номер. Единственный минус, который могу заметить это грязные окна
