“A Wonderful Bargain”

I stayed at this hotel for five nights after finding an excellent rate on Expedia. I would have said it was impossible to find any L.A. hotel for the price I paid, much less one as well-maintained as the Rodeway in Harbor City. If you are looking for a "fancy" hotel with trimmings, you won't find that here. From the street, the Rodeway is modest in appearance, but that is deceiving. The property is well-kept, the rooms are neat and clean as a pin, and the owner, Mr. Patel, is not only kind but also keeps the motel in tip-top condition. I had no problems during my stay but had the impression that if I had, Mr. Patel would have corrected them immediately. Not only was my bed comfortable, but the room had both a small refrigerator and a microwave. There was a flat-screen TV, a basic continental breakfast, and a very nice bathroom. Parking is complimentary, and there is free WiFi! The location is convenient if you plan to be in Long Beach or Orange County coastal cities. Since the Rodeway is on the Pacific Coast Highway, I took to driving the PCH to various destinations south of L.A. and found it to be a much pleasanter and more interesting drive than the freeways. You will drive through an industrial area near Long Beach, but after that, there are ocean views, the charms of smaller coastal cities, and even an impressive nature reserve with extensive trails across from Bolsa Chica Beach. The area around the hotel is commercial, not glamorous, so keep that in mind. Great find.

“Rodeway Torrance/San Pedro”

I don't often stay at Motels but this one is first rate. It's everything advertised; inexpensive, clean and comfortable. The floors and bathroom were unbelievably clean; and most major hotels don't leave me with that impression. So if you need an inexpensive place to stay near San Pedro you can't do much better.

“Great budget hotel, very clean and convenient”

Very happy with this hotel. Very good value. Room is on the small side, but it's very clean and functional. The bathroom is updated too. Perfect for people who spend most of the time outside and just need a clean place to sleep and shower. Location is convenient, close to 110 exit, and near to a gas station (Chevron), restaurants, Albertsons and CVS. Also has a good Chinese dimsum restaurant (PV palace) a few blocks away Also, the front desk was very helpful and helped me print out my e-tickets when I lost mine. Saved me a trip to Fedex office :)

“Best budget room ever!”

The room was very clean and organized. The clerk at the front desk was very attentive. I stay at many hotels for under $100, and this place is by far the best. I will be staying there again.
