"Hotel right on top of an excellent pub, sports bar"
I appreciated the privacy offered by the hotel in that it does away with the formality of the orthodox reception. You feel as if you are entering your own accommodation building.
The pub and club downstairs means you don't have to take transport to be entertained. Yet the rooms are soundproof, so that when you eventual retire to your room. It seems as if the club and pub are miles away.
Breakfast is stocked in your room and you do not have to wake up before 10am to eat no be disturbed for room cleaning. If you have danced till wee wee hours and want to stay in bed to recover.

I stayed in a family room at The White Lodge Hotel. The staff were very friendly and obliging and couldn't help you enough. The room was all that we needed for our stay, clean, comfortable, We where attending a function at Alexandra Palace and the hotel was well positioned for this, having to take just one bus from a stop a short walk away. The bus stop to take you into the city was right outside the hotel, it took you to the tube station from which all the major sightseeing places were easily reached. I found the hotel very good value and would recommend it ,especially as the staff were so helpful.

Pleasant helpful staff, but, as can be said of most London hotels of this variety these days, not very much for the money. A meager breakfast, nothing compared to the buffets most hotels that cost this much. For a long-time visitor to the UK, London has become outrageously expensive. To get to central London you must bus to the underground--all madly costly.

A great hotel for short stays, and very convenience travelling to central london. Although the room was situated beside the traffic lights, it can get a bit noisy, but can be put up with. Walls are a bit thin? So you could hear other clients turning on the shower, or a dog walking around on the floor (our ceiling). Overall, a good accommodation to stay in. Definitely reccommend, if not fussy!

The Hotel was close to the venue we had to attend for interview. We had travelled from Wirral and after spending time in Central London, we were pleasantly surprised how easy it was for us to get to the Hotel (Finsbury Park)on the tube.

At first I thought negative comments were perhaps a bit unfair, the reception was clean and tidy and the check-in staff perfectly friendly. And then yes the hotel seemed dated but tidy. But when we got to our room it was so arctic freezing I started to shiver, and when I called reception because the heating didn't seem to be working they admitted that was because it was switched off. They offered an electric heater which was so small it took an hour to cut through the crisp cold air, so wasn't very impressed with that. In the morning the hot water also seemed to take an age to arrive, and once it did we realised the shower was blocked as the shower tray had filled up with water. Also thought the whole place could have been a whole lot cleaner. There was dust visible on skirting boards and wall panels in the bathroom, although wash basin etc was clean.
