Pool out of service for 4 months?!

Posted Apr 21, 2014
They should indicate that their indoor pool was out of service. When asked about the pool hours desk attendant indicated it had been out of service for four months..as if we should have known. WRONG response and if true... This should be posted on Expedia's & hotel's web page.

Location and amenities

Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: Excellent staff
Cons: Larger dining area
Location: Not too much. McDonalds was the only restaurant in the immediate area. Other restaurants were located 2-5 miles in either direction.
Overall average experience. Staff was good, room clean, good parking, complimentary breakfast OK. Hotel was too close to the highway (15); hotel entrance was too congested with semi-trucks coming in and out of the nearby businesses. A rundown business next to the hotel was not appealing. Pool was not available for use.

Nice hotel outside the City

Posted Mar 11, 2014
It was a little farther than anticipated. I thought I booked it in Harrisburg, and was disappointed in how much further it was past the City. My error, I suppose. The bed was uncomfortable, assuming it was the mattress. The gym consisted of two older treadmills and one bike. The treadmill I picked said it needed the belt oiled. Other than that, it was clean, and everything was fine.

Clean and inviting; full breakfast included

Posted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: The breakfast was more than I was expecting and everything was good.
Cons: Have tub stoppers available, even if the cost has to be temporarily charged to the card on file in case it does go missing.
I was disappointed there was no tub stopper so I could soak in the tub. I made a makeshift plug with a wash cloth. When I asked for one at the front desk, the front desk employee said guests tend to take them with them when they leave and if we were going to be staying an additional night she would ask housekeeping for one in the morning. We were only staying one night so that was not an option. The breakfast that was included was amazing! I have never stayed at a hotel where the "continental" breakfast was so extensive. Really great perk!

Nice hotel with good breakfast

Posted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: I liked that it had a microwave and refrigerator and hot breakfast.
Cons: They need to fix the broken treadmill, add a whole set of assorted hand weights, and fix their pool's heater.
Location: It is located close to Messiah College, which is why we chose it.
The hotel was nice with a good breakfast. When my husband requested eggs, the server was very accommodating and cooked scrambled eggs for him. He enjoyed the fresh waffles. I was happy they had hot oatmeal and herbal teas to choose from, in addition to fresh oranges. The workout room was very disappointing. One out of the two treadmills was broken. The treadmill should have been fixed. There was only one set of weights to use that were too heavy for me to use. There should be more hand weights to choose from and more mats to exercise on. There was only one exercise mat to use. Also, the pool's heater was broken, so the pool was unavailable to use.

Nice hotel close to Roundtop Ski Resort

Posted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: The room itself was very clean and well-decorated.
We booked this hotel to stay close to Roundtop and loved the look and feel of the hotel. Staff was very friendly and the complimentary breakfast was great. Will be using this as our hotel from now on when we travel to PA to snowboard.

Not bad, if the pool would have been operable.

Posted Feb 12, 2014
Everything was nice, however we arrived late and checked in on a Friday night. The next day we wanted to use the pool and it was down for repairs. This was one of the main reasons we picked this hotel for the kids. They said they would help us with the bill. But it was just disappointing and we didn't do anything further about it. Just would have liked to have a heads up when we checked in that it was out of service.

condition of room

Posted Feb 11, 2014
Pros: evening desk person very nice and helpful.
Cons: rooms need to be refurbished/upgraded.
Location: sort of in an industrial section. highway was nearby so it only took approx 15 min to get back to Harrisburg.
Bed was the WORST ever slept in. extremely uncomfortable. very fitfull sleep. bathroom floor had some sort of film on it. when walking on it in bare feet or socks, i almost fell several times. was literally like walking on ice. reported it to desk in a.m. and he was a little indifferent. while at desk, DID hear another person say they DID slip and fall. certainly did not feel i should have paid what we did for the room. Would have stayed somewhere else.

We found out this is a franchised hotel. the price offered is good, room is quite large and everything is quite clean and generous.
