Good value for downtown areaPosted Jan 22, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff and comfortable bed. For the price and location it was a good value.
Cons: Parking is valet only at $18 per day. I have had to pay more for hotel parking, but I prefer to park my own car since I am liable for the rental car.
Location: Plenty of places to eat. I did not have time for other activities.
Overall it was a pleasant stay (only there one night). The room is a little on the small side, but the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is definitely small. The staff was very friendly and gave the appearance they were willing to help with anything. I never needed help, but felt it was there if I needed it. There are plenty of places to eat within walking sistance.

NYE 2014Posted Jan 3, 2015
Stayed for new year's and wanted to be close to all of the festivities. The facility and staff were excellent. Probably not somewhere I'd stay more than a few days because the room was a bit cramped but it was everything I needed for one night.

I stayed here for NYE. They were short staffed and the staff was short tempered. House keeping has a liberal interpretation of what clean means.

Pros: I mostly enjoy the staff because they are super accommodating and professional!
Cons: the rooms are a bit old and the cleaning staff didn't remove old food items
Location: perfect location and close proximity to whitacre center which we often visit.
Overall a good experience. The staff always is responsive to questions or needs.

Convenient. Close. Cost-effective.Posted Nov 24, 2014
The Crowne Plaza is right in the heart of downtown Harrisburg. It is not far from all that downtown has to offer. The restaurant. The bars. The Capitol. The museums. Plus if you like really really hot water, you are in luck. The water from the bathroom is hit enough to make a cup of tea. No long wait for it to heat up either.

Ok, but not very nicePosted Nov 23, 2014
Cons: Better toilets, better consistent water temperature, better pillows.
The room was clean so I do give credit for this. On the bad side of things the toilet consistently took three flushes to just flush urine, we didn't dare use it for anything else. The shower's water temperature was a constant battle of way too hot then way too cold.

Good locationPosted Nov 12, 2014
Pros: Hotel catering staff are very friendly and attentive.
Cons: Meeting rooms could stand some updating.
Location: Nice walking trail by the river.
I was in Harrisburg for a meeting at the Crowne Plaza. The hotel is located very conveniently to several nice restaurants within easy walking distance. There is a nice walking trail by the river. Not sure if the neighboring blocks are safe for walking in the evening, ended up going to dinner only a block away.

2nd Street Harrisburg, PAPosted Nov 7, 2014
Pros: I liked the valet parking and proximity to 2nd Street clubs, bars and restaurants.
Cons: The building is old & tired. It needs gutted rather than the obvious cosmetic efforts. Pay the beggars out on the street not to beg or feed them.
Location: 2nd Street is old and dirty. I did not feel completely safe while walking late afternoon on a Saturday. There are a number bars and restaurants.
The Hotel is easy to find and right on the street. You literally drive across the sidewalk into the hotel building for valet parking. The valet parking attendant was very polite and concise with the procedures of valet parking. It was an excellent first impression. Check-in was easy and speedy. Reception was polite. The room was adequate with a small bathroom. There was only one lamp next to the bed. There was a big stain on the carpet (needs replaced) and stuffing was coming out of the desk chair (needs replaced). Elevators are speedy. The breakfast food at the restaurant was good. Check out was also quit easy with reasonable retrieval time of vehicle from valet parking.
