Within easy distance to Hershey attractions

Posted Jun 14, 2015
PROS: Rooms were good sized and had many tv channels. We rarely heard noise from other guests. Typical continental breakfast was adequate. Pool was clean and hours to use it were good. Manager very accommodating. CONS: Housekeeping could have been a bit better with stains on the bed spread. Wallpaper was wrinkled. Gap at bottom of door would mean a very cold room in winter.

Close to town and attractions.

Hotel is very nice. There is a great restaurant in the lower level. We were tired from a long drive and pleasantly surprised. All the Hershey attractions were just up the street...less than a mile. Free breakfast was a plus! It wasn't a hot breakfast, but a large selection or fruits, yogurt, breads and cereals.

Nice Room - Small BR - Cleaning details overlooked

Posted May 26, 2015
Pros: Big room. For the price, the value was fair.
Cons: Attention to detail on the cleaning and setting up a room for arriving guest.
Location: The hotel was 10-15 minutes from all of the major hershey attractions and easy to get to.
The room was a decent size and the closet was huge in comparison to other hotels. The cleaning was a little lacking in the areas you would no normally look. For example I went to pull out the sofa bed for my kids, but the bed was not made and I notice some trash under the couch. That was the most disappointing part. However the bathroom was clearly renovated recently, but it was just so small - While your doing your business, your knees are nearly against the wall in front of you. Overall the facilities are nice and I would stay there again - but mostly because the price was less than most of the other hotels in the area.

Total Disappointment

Posted May 20, 2015
Pros: The continental breakfast was fair.
Cons: More attention should be made on cleanliness of the room.
You certainly pay for what you get. The overall cleanliness of my room was something to experience. When checking into a room I immediately look behind the dresser/nightstand and under the bed. These three areas certainly could have used a little more attention. Not sure when the bed skirt was last changed/cleaned. The cushions of the chairs had stains, the corners of the room had pieces of food. I even found a pill under the bed. The second door to the parking lot would latch but had a severe air gap. The wooden blinds on the door did not provide much privacy. My room faced the street, which was a bit annoying.

Comfortable hotel near to the chocolate world

Posted May 7, 2015
Pros: Clean, quiet, dark room during the day
Cons: More breakfast option, hope there is a dimmer light that we can keep on during sleep. Mirror not to place facing the bed
Location: Very near to the Hershey Chocolate World, near to many nice restaurants, easy to find parking.
Staff was very considerate for upgrading one of our rooms of which we book with only one queen bed to 2 queen beds bedroom. Everyone got their own bed and got a nice good sleep. We really need that especially after walking for whole day in DC and drove for hours to this place. Thanks!

Business Travel

Pros: Nothing
Cons: new bedding if it has any stains on it. vacuum better. Hate not being able to take my shoes off cause I don't want to step on the rug.
I always thought Howard Johnson was a reputable nice Hotel. I was really disappointed when I checked into my room. The top bed comforter and pillows had stains, the sheets looked wrinkled. You can see that they don't vacuum very well in tight places. The room would no stay warm. I had the heat up to 85 degrees but as soon as it turned off the room was freezing again. Poorly insulated.

Hard to Sleep

Posted Apr 2, 2015 on Hotels
The room was in good shape. The mattress was clearly older as you could feel springs as you were laying down. Breakfast was decent for a free meal. The restaurant in the hotel is great. The problem with this location is that it is right next to the road. All three nights I slept there I couldn't get a good night's rest because every single truck that drove by woke me up. This was clearly made worse by the fact that my room was on the outer wall against the road. If you had an interior room it may not have been so bad. The walls just seem paper thin.
