Tired old rooms

Posted Jul 26, 2015
Pros: The staff was lovely and tried very hard. The sheets were new and very pretty and soft. The air conditioning worked well.
Cons: The furniture was old and shabby with dull mismatched colors. The carpeting looked like indoor-outdoor and hurt my feet.
Location: The location was quiet, on a neighborhood side street, convenient to Hershey Park.
In a good location and very quiet. The room was shabby and out of date and the coffee pot didn't work.

Okay for the price & location

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: Great location & fair price
Cons: Customer service
Location: Hershey park is a 5 minute drive and only 2 turns away. Dukes Bar & Grill next door is convenient & great food for families.
This hotel cannot be beat for the combination of location & the price. Great place for a weekend stay with a small pool as a bonus. Rooms are poorly renovated (just painted & added some new linens) but the grounds are nice enough. Desk clerk at check-in was very polite & informative. The desk clerk on morning shift was horrible & complained about serving the advertised continental breakfast directly to the customers. Would not recommend as a multi-day or extended stay hotel, but for a night or two is just fine.

Beware of this Shelter Motel

Posted Jun 20, 2015
Pros: Nothing was likable about this hotel except maybe the staff did try to make our stay as nice as they could considering.
Cons: Too many things to improve. Just change the star class so that travelers are prepared.
Location: It was very close to Hershey and great food places one right next door Dukes and one walking distance called Funcks.
This hotel should not be classified as a 2 star hotel and should not be available for purchase for regular travelers. The hotel seem like it was for homeless people needing a place to live. It was the worst room I have ever had to stay in. I only stayed one night because we couldn't find another room at 10 pm that was not more than thirty minutes away. Our first room had about 6 flies on the ceiling like someone had stashed a dead body up there. when we moved to the room with no flies it was a little bit better, but we knew 2 nights was not going to make it at this place for us.

Not a good hotel, but good enough.

Posted May 30, 2015
Pros: Wifi, AC, staff
Cons: Quality of property
If you are looking for an affordable, overnight option close to Hershey Park, then this is a good enough choice. The staff was very courteous and helpful, which is more than I can say for some "top" hotels I've been in. Wifi and air conditioning were excellent. The rooms were relatively clean, but the quality was average. They give you a mini fridge and an ironing board. The worst thing was the room next to ours had to be sprayed for bedbugs, which is not something you want to see! So, if you want to save money and are only crashing for an overnight or two, then it is a good option, though you get what you pay for.

You get what you pay for. It's an average hotel for the price. Room was clean. The facility is below the average. You get hot waffle at the breakfast. I recommend for just overnight stay. Nice location but nothing fancy.

Room was not welcoming...trim missing, curtains not hung properly at all...owners need yo take pride in their property and expect better from themselves and their staff.

Good for the money and extremely friendly staff!

The hotel itself wasn't new or newly renovated (which I really couldn't care less about that), but it was a good deal for the price of the room. The room was clean and comfortable (although the bathroom didn't have a door knob or lock). The lady working at the desk was beyond friendly and helpful; she was very sweet and a pleasure to talk to. I would recommend this hotel to anyone because of her alone. The hotel also had a free breakfast which was good. This hotel is only minutes from Hershey Chocolate World and located right on Chocolate Avenue close to shopping and food. The lady at the desk referred us to the restaurant directly next door (Duke's) which was honestly some of the best food I've ever tasted. Staying at this hotel definitely served our purpose for staying in Hershey for a night. I would stay here again.
